yeah they did make a huge error of judgement, but they've paid a price bigger than anything on earth. I don't think it's abandonment either. is every child I see running around with no parent in site abandoned ? they thought she's safe locked in the room. did you have no sympathy for James Bulgers mother ? that child was left outside a shop.....it's the same thing. just a bad call at the wring time ... people make mistakes mate it's not always a case of people being bad people.. just daft... the real monsters the real.issue to me
I'm not saying what they did was anything but stupid , but seriously only a psycho couldn't find some level of sympathy for someone's child being raped and murdered.. I just don't get it.
Bulger case is totally different. Parent shopping if I remember and James outside butchers shop (?) a short distance from his mother when he was kidnapped. Would have been minutes at most they were apart.
Maddie by herself (with 2 younger siblings) for hours night after night with parents drinking and eating and about 70-90 yards away.
No comparison.

On abandonment
The Law and Child Abandonment
Child abandonment is considered to be the act of leaving of a child on their own without any intention of returning to ensure their safety and wellbeing. It is considered to be among the most serious of offences a parent can commit in relation to their child.
You can argue the McCann’s claimed to check on children regularly but their story changed as to how often and also have independent witness saying Maddie cried one night for 75 minutes without anyone checking on her. Probably wouldn’t be abandonment but for me that’s probably due to the Pact of Silence and difficulty in proving it.
I could go on “locked safe in a room” and if there was a fire? Actually they claimed again in a change in their original story that the patio door was left open for that reason but that meant kiddies could potentially wander off through unlocked door.
I have no sympathy for the McCann’s at all. Their best scenario was that they were bad parents. Bad doesn’t even begin to describe it. They by their action were more than happy to put all 3 children at risk simply because they wanted “adult” time.
I have every sympathy in the world for Maddie she didn’t deserve whatever has happened to her. The McCann’s should have known better but they more than happy to put themselves and their wishes first ahead of 3 innocent defenceless children. I would say the opposite that you have to be a psycho to have any sympathy for them they don’t deserve it. If that sounds heartless and judgemental then so be it but that’s how I feel and that’s without then considering the other options as to what happened to Maddie.
Imagine how i feel about *****philes and the like.
