The Baylaev experiment actually showed remarkably quick results in producing domesticated foxes. Within a few years, foxes were displaying domesticated dog like traits, wagging tails, excitement with human contact, licking peolple's faces (classic pack bonding behaviour)

What breed of dogs? I have two - English Springer and Rhodesian Ridgeback

 

Yes, Ridgie's are very good natured - mine is a 5 year old boy (I adopted him last year). Very loyal and a good listener. I had to do a bit of work with him, as his previous owners didn't really socialise him properly. But now he is as good as gold

True to type, my Springer is as energetic as they come - a lot of people mistake their behaviour for craziness, when actually they just need direction. My Springer would have made a good working dog (she is a pet) She has brilliant command and recall and has total dedication to the task in hand. Springers need occupation, otherwise they will become destructive.

I also used to have a beautiful English Pointer x English Setter. I lost her to Cancer last year and was totally devastated. She was sleek, elegant and a ruthless hunter. A little highly strung, but such a sweet soul - God bless....
