I was watching Taylor when we had a goal disallowed. He had just been taken to one side by the ref and warned about fouling the goalie, so what does he do? Goes straight back and starts fouling the goalie again. Goal disallowed. The goalie may or may not have prevented the goal otherwise, my impression was not, but it was stupid of Taylor, and he would be even better without this side of his game. The question is, Bowyer the man to tell him to cut it out? Maybe this is more Jacko's role.
A long time (numerous years) ago l attended a game at Welling. Bowyer was playing, he was really wound up and angry. I was a couple of feet away from his father; who told him to calm down, otherwise he would be sent off. Son gave father a 'v' sign; so much for fine and proper examples......?
Taylor has been outstanding all season. If we don’t get promoted, a Championship club will inevitably snap him up in the summer.
Let's see where we are in 3 games time. I didn't see what he did to get a red and don't think the ref did either, just sent off the two players whose confrontation started it all. So it will be a bit like umpire's call and the red will stand. The ref can't have seen what happened or he would have sent their 15 off.
He posts the same old s***, just in different forms. He could not put a one line post together to save his life.
Has Lyle Taylor won his appeal against the red card yet? I'm starting to think Gobbo was right - there is a conspiracy of EFL officials against Charlton.
Was the the Beckham-type kick when he was being stamped on that some people are talking about, or was there another one?
I was right in line of the kerfuffle and Taylor flicked his boot at the goalkeeper, which prompted the Accrington players to steam in. That is why I don't think it will be overturned. Just before that Taylor straight armed one of their defenders in the face which the ref and Lino missed.
Even before it kicked off I was thinking that Taylor is the type of player you love if he's on your side, hate him if he's not. He's been superb for us, and we can ill afford to lose him for three games, but we did get the winner without him, so all is not lost. What could have been going through his head to behave like that directly after receiving a warning from the ref? After the warning I watched him and he had one thing on his mind, to foul the goalie, and I missed what Dick saw.
the appeal was unsuccessful. his ban stands. goalkeeper for them had his withdrawn and the number 14 got a 3 or more game ban
The Accrington Town owner has said that Taylor studded the keeper. I have to say that is what I saw too.
