Very true. The frustration is that we don’t need to do that. It’s almost Bruce like. Even worse Benitez like.

We have the fire power to go ahead. And then score again and kill the games off.

I don’t understand why we have git scared and started this defend the 1-0 lead crap. It’s not our style under Howe and never has been.

We tried this against Liverpool, PSG and now last night.
We also tried it against Milan.

The side being fielded isn't that good... the majority were here before the takeover. Newcastle are way off where the fans think in terms of players.
Possibly. But we had both games within our grasps.

We can blame energy levels and fitness and injuries. But they are all unfortunately excuses. To hide or mask reality.

The facts are we always lose when the big games come.

We don’t need to be signing 50-100m pound players either. There’s plenty of good players that cost less.

I point everyone to Girona in Spain.

I think they players burn out and the other side starts to dominate personally. It's been happening earlier and earlier in games and I think we're finally at tipping point.

After 20 minutes? I’m not sure that’s burn out. That’s tactics and game plan.

Eddie genuinely thought that we could see out a 1-0 win at Chelsea because they have been so bad at converting chances.

I believe he hedged his bets which nearly worked had it not for Trippier being absolutely shot.

Did he even need to bring him on?

Yes the players look knackered mate.. even Almiron who's an absolute trogen. Essentially the players are being run into the ground and they have to play only 3 sleeps after then again then again and again and it's caught up.

I did agree when it happened later on in games. But the tactics changed after we scored.

Maybe I guess to preserve legs that is plausible right.

In fact that’s maybe it. Maybe the plan was score first and save your energy. There was a clear change in game management.

That’s it.

Maybe Eddie did the right thing. In the long run.

I don't expect any significant changes because the clubs unable to continue spending because of FFP. The club will have to sell players, let a couple of years play out and then go again.

Unfortunately last season has lead to an ill conceived belief that Newcastle are further ahead in their plan , but the club quite simply is not! The side just finished 4th once.

This game vs Luton is not going to be pretty and Matt Ritchie will start because the managers untested style of play and inexperience managing a squad playing in all the competitions is now fully exposed.

This Christmas and New year Newcastle fans are not going to enjoy the football because it's going to get much worse... the rot has set in now.

Wrong.

We are going to batter Luton so hard they're all going to die on the pitch this weekend.
