CARDIFF CITY V LUTON TOWN, CHAMPIONSHIP

Cardiff could hand a debut to £5.5m German forward Robert Glatzel, who missed their opening-day defeat at Wigan through suspension.

Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge (hamstring) misses out and is set to be replaced by second-choice keeper Joe Day.

Luton defender Dan Potts is a doubt after injuring his shoulder in their draw against Middlesbrough. Eric Morecambe could return.

Brendan Galloway and Jacob Butterfield are pushing for starts, with Danny Hylton among those back in training.

Match facts
  • Cardiff City haven't faced Luton Town in a league match since drawing 0-0 in a Championship meeting on New Year's Day 2007.
  • This will be Luton's first-ever visit to the Cardiff City Stadium - their last away league trip to Cardiff was in September 2006, losing 4-1 at Ninian Park.
  • Neil Warnock has never lost in the Football League against Luton in nine games against the Hatters (W3 D6 L0), only facing Rotherham United more often without losing (17 games).
  • Cardiff lost their opening game of the season away at Wigan (3-2) - Warnock has never previously lost his opening two games of a second-tier league campaign, with 2019-20 being his 15th season in charge of a club at this level.
  • Luton striker James Collins has scored 45 league goals for the Hatters - 16 more than any other teammate since the start of the 2017-18 season. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Ref is Darren Bond.

He gave Madine the chance to score against us for Bolton following a harsh penalty decision against Bamba. He scored<yikes>

Thanks Masky.

Looking forward to this and hopefully getting out first points of the season.
It'll be interesting to see how we line up.
Hope glatzel gets a start anf that we see one or two of the new boys off the bench at least.

433?
Vaulks, Ralls and Pack in the middle with Murphy, Glatzel and NML up front?

Might be a bit early for Pack so Baccuna instead?
Whyte and Vassel off thr bench?

Come on Colin, what have you got planned?

Why should it be too early for Pack? According to NW he was surprised to get him as he’d always rated him so now he’s got him, no reason why he shouldn’t play him.

Rumour that NML’s injured so if he is expect Hoilett or Whyte.

Surely Glatzel has to start.

Hope Madine is in his suit doing corporate hospitality

So the 6 to play in front of an obvious back 5? Assuming Tomlin is in his sickbed and not available, take your pick - that's 6 from this lot.............

Glatzel
Bogle
Vassell
Mendez
Murphy
Whyte
Hoilett
Ralls
Vaulks
Pack

Never feels right to sign a player and chuck him straight in. He won't even know the names of half the players in the squad.
He should be physically and match fit, the latter with Brizzle, but it takes time to integrate. Needs to know how we want to play and what his job is. OR, the current players need to know what his job is.

Oi, you, over 'ere. On me 'ead son.

I know they are professionals, but you still need to build a rapport with your team mates.
If we signed him Thursday, he'll have had one training session with the squad.

All you lovely, local, dedicated people ready for your first home game. Give them a shou for me please.
