All very harsh comments. OK Damage has a tendency to run out of talent during a match but he gave it the proverbial 110% and thats a damn sight more than most.

Do we think Warnock will play Barton 'in the hole' behind Dave??

Not harsh.....was a good asset for us in The Championship, but certainly isnt Premiership material, hence the comment.

It's a squad thing GMG... vital strength in depth an' all that. By the end of the window we could wind up with a second string eleven capable of getting a draw or maybe even a narrow win at home against Rochdale!

AND just for you Wubba, Young, Gabbi, Derry, Barton, SWP, Adel, DJ, Both... I'm getting wild clover with a hint of um... crazy gang W12?? You?

I think there's still a squad place for Ramage. Granted he's useless at right-back but he's always looked decent in the middle where he's not had many chances. As it stands he's our third best centre-half (only in my opinion of course) behind Gabbidon and Connolly. I still think Connolly can be a decent prem centre-half.

Mcleish has indicated young on his way:-

    Young exit

Young has been keen to find a club in London since being frozen out last season and the former Tottenham and Charlton man, 32, is now in talks with QPR.

"Luke was told he wasn't in the plans and moved his family back to London," McLeish explained. "He has been commuting from London to Villa in recent times.

"We were very honest with each other when I came here. I said I wanted him, I needed his experience, he had to honour his contract.

"But I understand his situation and he thought if there was a chance of getting back to London, the club would be sympathetic to that. I said only if it suits us.

"QPR have put a bid in for Luke which the club have accepted and he is talking to them now with my approval - as long as we can add to the squad," added the Villa boss. "The deal is not done yet but the indications are he will go to QPR.

"We will be looking to bolster the squad with an experienced player. If we are thin on the ground, it is (in terms of) experience.

"We have got a list of players. We have to be ready with some names for the board."

Tottenham full-back Alan Hutton would fit that criteria and the Scotland international has also been linked with Villa.

Of course, the squad needs strengthening, I just can't see Derry playing much at all now and he deserves a shot more than most. Seeing his interview on QPRPlayer after the Everton game about being happy that the managers given him a chance and all that. Mixed feelings for me.

Yes Brix I reckon you're right. Good blend of youth and experience and also grit coming into the team now. Barton will be a superb enforcer / midfield general and protector of Faurlin. TBGWTDT may have been right with his 'we'll finish 8th' prediction.

They reckon on SSN it will be all done and dusted tomorrow. No real rush now as the next game after Wigan is sept 12th. Handy break for us as it will give us 2 weeks for the new signings to train and get familiar with the current team

Why do you think that the new players will replace the existing ones across the team as a whole ... It will be about getting a balanced team playing If NW just replaces players it would kill the team spirit ... It took time to gel
So many of the posts on here are by people playing fantasy football .
The existing team is still strong I believe that the new players are to build a different team maybe and it's a rush job because of the previous owners I hope this all works as if you pick a team of names they have to play together quickly ....
I predict if we get a bad result then this board will be moaning like f**k guaranteed . Until 10 days ago there was no money and no future according to most on here
Are we all making new predictions now ?

Young will be a good solid addition to the squad. Realistically, Orr is one of those players that aren't good enough. We've been crying out on here for defenders (myself included) & it looks like we've signed ourselves a good one. Certainly a step in the right direction.

Christ's sake stop the negativity will you?! Kenny Sansom did a pretty good job for us when he signed. Young will be a good one.

Cracked me up big time <laugh> Best post EVER! <ok>

You naughty boy wubba, playing in Daves ***hole, that's just plain nasty! :emoticon-0112-wonde

On a more serious note though...
For all your info, Young has JUST turned 32, like the young yours truly :emoticon-0105-wink:

Luke Young is a real team player, only played for four teams during his 14 years in the Premier league. Changing clubs twice because of relegation. With an avarage of 25 games a year. He's got 7 England caps and several U18 and U21 caps. And he's held in high regards in every club (maybe not spuds) he's played, not a bad career i would say.
A long way from our previous dross signings. A real quality signing that will make our unit something to be reckoned with.

The existing team isn't strong, that's why we got hammered 4-0 at home to Bolton and why the management know we need 5-6 players at least to have a fighting chance of competing.

I wonder what planet you orbit sometimes.

Of course the new players are going to replace the current crop, Barton will be in for Derry straight away, Young will be for Orr etc etc.

You're right on one thing, there was no future under Eccles and Flabbbb.
