Not good enough for Sunderland though. According to some!!

I can't think of anyone who could replace him and would be willing to come ...

... watching him play for Sunderland you'd think he'd been here since he was a kid.

Attitude is vital and we've had plenty of talented players who've let us down, Grigg as an example.

I'll be over the moon if he stays as I think he is brilliant, and his attitude and personality have to rub off on the other players. He'd be my captain. Wouldn't mean we couldn't sign other leaders. Need several.

If he does decide to move on, good luck to him. He's earned the right to have a go higher up if he wants to. Whilst I'd be confident in us recruiting players of his equal (unlike McGeady for example), we'd probably need to sign 3 to replace him.

Big contract on offer for him. Very big. Club love him and see him as a main player. Data shows that he is essential. Doesn't get injured, right age. Offered more than a championship club.

But he’s ****e apparently!

Hopefully we get him tied down.

Good news, get him into the midfield and give him the run in there that he deserves, I hope we sign some more quality though to play alongside him, Winchester didnt look the answer last season, he was poor.

Unbelievable isn’t it. Him amd Leadbitter were hurt more by the semi final loss to Lincoln than any other player. You could see that.

I think some folk think that we are suddenly going to start signing Championship quality players and get promoted this season, whilst its going to be more likely (hopefully) that we will get top end League 1 players. O'Nien is a top end League 1 player, so we need to keep him.

Agree with this. O9 always gives 100%,despite being played out of position in an ever changing environment in the roller coaster that we've been since he arrived.
He made mistakes, but he also did lots of good things. Give him some stability in a settled side and he is a top L1 player, who can hopefully progress to the Championship with us.

I find the Hume situation bonkers mind. The club clearly want to keep him. He need to be playing first team football. And he won't get that higher up. So either they've told him he won't be first choice, or he expects to find a better wage elsewhere. Which I can't fathom. Unless he backs himself to become a regular higher up

I’ll probably get stick for saying it, but I think Hume is crap.

He wouldn’t be a big miss, imo.

I disagree, atm I reckon he is our most sellable player. He is great at going forward and is getting better defending. A very modern LB.

Is he though?

His final ball is erratic to say the least and he’s weak defensively. He also refuses to challenge for headers which I find bizarre.

I won’t mind admitting I’m wrong if he ends up playing at a higher level, but bar having the ability to go past a few players, he doesn’t offer much - certainly not in a back four anyway.

Everything about Hume is potential IMO. If he delivers consistantly he could be great. If he stays as he has been, stop start with injuries, he'll have a crap career.

He needs to be at a club that will play him, not go or more money to be backup in the championship.

Don't agree with you on much in this post but I'll give you that his defending needs work. I think he's got enough of a footballing brain to improve there and he seems the type who's willing to learn so I expect he'll be good enough when he's been coached sufficiently.

Probably always be a better WB than LB but as far as I'm concerned he just needs a polish to be a good player at this level and beyond. He's got one thing you can't teach and that's pace. He's like a racehorse, he's even got the neck for it.

I noticed that the first few times he played for us. Always seemed to misjudge the flight and it sailed over his head.
