Just coz you've read it in the Metro doesn't make it true, there were stories in the summer that Barca were in for Ashley Young, do you think that's actually true?

And if you want to know who was interested in Lucas, Inter Milan, Napoli & Villareal to name but a few.

No but Chelsea and Arsenal's interest in Tiote isn't as exuberant as Barcelona's interest in Young. Chelsea actually nearly had Tiote sealed in the January but Tiote rejected the offer because he didn't want to go to London.

Atleast we've played in Europe.

No, I just hear people claim, he's so good he was linked with a move away to X, Y and Z. Then when you enquire (or Enrique) about their sources, you hear that they saw it on caughtoffside or the Metro, something like that. Obviously unless you can use some solid sources for the interest then do not talk about it.

I am finding it very, very hard to comprehend that there are people out there who are ******ed enough to think that Lucas ****ing Leiva is a better footballer than Cheik Tiote. Why is this debate even happening?

We won it just 6 years ago. And it was you, not me who was trying to have a dig that we weren't in the Europa league even though in Newcastle, if you'd gotten as far as us, there'd be an open top bus celebration and Alan Shearer would be MC'ing on the mic about how he's a sheet metal workers son done good.

Tiote going to Chelsea was definitely not all over the news, it was a rumour in the News of the World but neither the BBC or Sky Sports have mentioned ANY transfer rumour about Tiote since he signed (and Sky aren't that particular about what rumours they report these days). The guy has been suspended for 5 of Pardew's 16 games in charge, which suggests his tackling probably isn't as perfect as some of you are claiming. I wouldn't swap Lucas for Tiote, Lucas is establishing himself in the Brazilian team and is showing very steady progress. Tiote is a good player too, but since i gather you lot don't have too many of them i can understand your love affair with him. Fortunately our club is on the up so we don't have to give our guys new 6 1/2 year contracts 6 months after they've signed in the first place, and it's that kind of judgement at your club which probably makes a reasoned debate impossible to begin with.

1. In his 'eyes', meaning it's an opinion.
2. Best, not biggest, and club not team. You can have a s*it squad for a couple of seasons, but it doesn't mean the club is suddenly a poor one.


Read some of the comments on the Dalglish article you linked to. Many say the same as I have.

I remember Pardew saying you were one of the biggest clubs in England when he took over. Unlike you, I'm not gonna scoff at that. I think you are one of the biggest, and best supported clubs in England, without doubt.

And the same goes for Liverpool. You'll see people all over the world supporting them.
 
Lucas is ****, even the liverpool fans i know don't think he is good enough . Was it the same poor Newcastle side that beat your self acclaimed promising liverpool side 3-1? Not to mention we were forced to play Campbell and Saylor at CB, even WBA managed to take advantage of that! Just wait untill the first of may when once again we will beat you!
 
I do believe that Lucas is nowhere near the finished article,but in the last two seasons he's come on leaps and bounds.And having cemented his place in the Brazil squad will help him further.He's been called the ''New Dunga'' by the Brazil coach.

Nobody ever said he wasn't good. He's alright , it's just an insult to compare him to Tiote let alone say he's better.
