Point to my previous post was that the NYPD were tooled up to frig, 3 helicopters flying over an average sized demonstration.
Cops all over the gaff, thousands of them all armed and ready to go.

We have Bobbies in their under crackers getting changed into riot gear in the full gaze of the world in response to a massive terrorist incident. In London, not Hull or Bristol or Leicester.... London.

Hang on some of our coppers do have Tazers.

It's a disgrace.

I think the news coming out of this is going to get worse and worse - I feel physically sick

I think the issue of radical Islam does need to be more seriously looked at. There are people spreading messages of extremism and trying to recruit normal Muslims to join them, in broad daylight. It's almost like it's a legitimate activity, yet we're surprised when they commit these acts.

We always tell ourselves that the terrorists' aim is to divide us and that we'll win by sticking together, but why are we so sure of that? I think they just want to kill a **** load of people because they're absolute nutters who are utterly brainwashed. I also think each attack inspires future attackers. That it's so entirely irrational is what makes them so dangerous.

This is exactly the problem, the fact that these attacks are being carried out with such ease it's going to inspire others to have a go as well. As terrorism is an ideology and not a physical enemy, it's incredibly hard to combat.

Think it will turn out that the Borough Market & Vauxhall reports are nothing and just sparked by understandable hyper-vigilance after it happened.

We seem to be turning into a soft touch at the moment, that shouldn't be the case at all in a country as rich as ours. Inevitable questions about funding of our security, which are completely justified in my opinion.

Usual turds advocating ethnic cleansing online, totally self-defeating and reeks of surrender.

**** times at the moment, RIP to the dead, shame on the opportunists.

yup. question is, what can anyone do about it?

Intense! Was not allowed out of Bank station, told to get on the nearest train which waited for ages then a load of shouting and police piling down the escalator screaming at everyone to stay on the train. Heavily armed and body armoured+ shields, they came on to the platform, clearly with info of someone they were after on the train. Appeared to be our carriage at first and at this point a large amount of sobbing and most of the carriage down on the floor. Don't think a bunch of guns pointing into a crowded carriage inspired confidence but we were on our way about 5 minutes later.

Three men on the loose after three incidents in and around London Bridge...Borough Market targeted....According to the BBC they are going around stabbing people in pubs and bars.

Something has got to be done. I'm getting pissed off with candlelit vigils and do gooders asking people to hold hands. It's doing £uck all to stop the nutters.

RIP to those murdered.

You're getting pissed off at remembrance services? What's wrong with you?

'Stopping the nutters' isn't really possible, in case you hadn't noticed, these attacks come without warning and through a variety of means. Even if everybody was stopped at a check point, you couldn't possibly prepare for somebody running people down in a van. What's the solution there? To ban all traffic in London?

You can have as many remembrance services as you like..At the end of the day these murderers don't give a toss about how many people come together to hold hands. It means nothing to them...That is my point. Sadly, there are no easy solution's and no knowing when if ever this will end..

A lot of people saying there's nothing that can be done, but there are things. For one thing, stop turning a blind eye to the extremists spreading their message on our streets. Every so often there's a debate about online communications being encrypted... if there's even the slightest suggestion that a single life could be saved for the sake of your 'oi oi banter brigade' group chat not being encrypted then why is it even a debate ffs?

It just doesn't seem to be a priority. Being a suspected terrorist gives you more rights than being a suspected football hooligan. We can stop people going to football matches but not to Syria to join ISIS. It's ****ing mental.

The remembrance services aren't for the benefit of fighting terrorism, they're to mourn the dead. Solidarity doesn't necessarily mean inactivity. It won't ever end unless all countries agree to a peace declaration (not happening), there'll always be attacks like this because of the culture clashes across the world. You can't eliminate an idea, you can only hope to catch those implementing it before anybody gets hurt.

I haven't seen anybody put forward a solid method of prevention against terrorist attacks yet, ever. Most likely because there isn't one.

Sounds like a couple of them have been shot - news hasn't said if they've been captured, wounded or killed.

I wonder with a sense of dread, will we see Emergency Powers being applied in this country?

Also, I can't imagine the GE is going ahead on Thurs.
