I agree. I'm sure he'll do well at QPR under Redknapp, but I think we could use him well this season and he'd learn more.
Well at least we can confine "Team Carroll" to one thread now seeing as he doesn't play for us this season.
I was at the Madejski Stadium last night and I thought Tom Carroll played extremely well throughout. A pity there weren't more people there to see it as a crowd of just over 5000 is pitiful. But certainly those neutrals sitting around near me were well impressed with his creativity. I have read that Harry has been quoted as saying QPR will "play through him" which suggests he will be playing regularly and to be given the number 10 shirt is an honour as QPR greats such as Rodney Marsh and Stan Bowles both wore 10. I believe he is set for a fine season.
Carroll did well from what I saw of the game, though I did miss parts of it. He started in a more advanced role and dropped deeper in the 2nd half. His movement was superb, his choice of passes was very good and he always wanted the ball. Being able to keep an eye on him specifically, as I wasn't that bothered about the rest of the team, allowed me to pick up on his constant concentration. He's always looking around, picking out a position that will allow him time and space and watching for the next pass, before he's received the ball. Mature play for someone that looks like he's still in primary school.
