It's worrying that we couldn't turn our performance around at all in the second half. Our players are too good to be playing so ****e. I wonder if there is some unrest in the dressing room?
No Ozil scapegoating here, the entire team was toilet today. But Liverpool lived up to their attacking tag and ripped us apart. If this isn't a wake up call for us then i don't know what is.
None of your players played well but Ozil is infuriating. Not just today - he's either silky or he's a child in a mans game. Soft.
Something is not right at our club, and results usually reflect that. How can we expect to move forward when our players are not committed (and don't look committed), our tactics are nonexistent, and no one looks like they can be bothered to turn up?
I know it won't happen but the entire squad plus Wenger wants binning and replaced by local London lads. Rocastle, Thomas, Merson, Paul Davis, Adams, Gus Caesar who formed the backbone of the George Graham title winning teams. There must be talent like that in the London area who would die to play for Arsenal. Why spend millions on players when they turn on great turgidity? Only one woth his place today seemed to be The Ox.
Then we're in for a very long season. I think next game we should bounce back, but if we don't, then there is something wrong in the dressing room. Not sure what impact players like Sanchez, Oxo and Bellerin are having, plus others on the way out too.
Thanks guys. You lot are literally the only thing cheering me up after another clueless performance at Wembley.
I'm not upset. Why? Because that performance is exactly what I expected. As soon as Wenger signed that two-year deal, I instantly expected more of the same. Not sure if anyone else is shocked by that display, but I can confidently state that I am not. Weak, bottling challenges, rushes of blood to the head, sloppy in possession, individual mistakes from the slightest bit of pressure, lacking any sort of cohesion at all, disinterested body language. What I will say is I've not seen an Arsenal team that despondent and heedless for as long as I can remember. We are in complete disarray and I have no clue how things are going to get any better anytime in the near future. Surely, it can't get any worse...can it?
Oh and Gary Neville - grow some cojones and actually have the courage to admit that the buck stops with the manager. Yes, the players do deserve blame, but the manner of these defeats have been commonplace for years now, despite a near enough complete overhaul in personnel and even changes in backroom staff over the last 9 or 10 years. Yet the same frailties are as apparent as they've ever been. It's not hard to see what the common denominator is in all this. If Sounness and Carragher can honestly say where the problems lie, why can't you? Shoddy punditry there, Gary.
Oh yeah one more thing - it's worth noting that Liverpool had a Champions League Qualifier in midweek with near enough the same set of players that featured in that game as today, yet they were more combative, more energetic and had more desire than us in every single aspect of the game. In theory, we should have taken advantage of whatever fatigue they could have had from their midweek match, but we were as lethargic as we always are when we play a big team away from home. Either the players weren't willing to put in a shift or Klopp has done wonders in improving the fitness of his squad.
Agree with Brunel. Anyone who is angry or even vaguely surprised by this and is asking for the players to put things right in the next game...... Que? Have you not watched arsenal the last decade? This is what we have for two years. Two years of taking a break from being a proper football club.
Looks like we are both in for a long frustrating season unless we sort out our short comings in the final 4 days of the window. On the up side...after we got battered 5-1 by City and you were slaughtrred 8-2 by United in August 2011 we both went on fantastic runs and ended up in the top 4 so who knows?
Glad I missed the game today. Soo we are 2-0 at half time. Tactical changes... Nope. Standard 60-65th min substitutions?.. err yes. (By this point we are 3-0 down.) He's a becoming a bigger liability every year.
What an absolute shower of ****e we were today. Playing players out of position, setting up with no ****ing clue, spineless, clueless, sloppy, lazy, half hearted. 4-5 of those players out there looked like they didn't give a ****. We need to sort this **** out and quick, otherwise it's going to be a very long and depressing season.
