All Home Nations excelled

England comfortably won their group with a 100% record, only conceding 3 goals & minimising shots on target, against them, to just 12 over 10 games (Sky source).

Northern Ireland qualified with a game to spare. They only lost once & won their group with an away draw at Finland in the final game.

Wales also qualified with a game to spare. They won 6 of their 10 games, losing just the once in their penultimate game. They remained unbeaten against group favourites Belgium & Israel.

Scotland beat Gibraltar home & away which helped them to finish above both Georgia & Gibraltar in their group.

An excellent effort by them all.

I've just seen an article on the recent ACL injuries and what they all have in common...

Max Gradel
Tyrone Mings
Callum Wilson
Danny Ings
Joe Gomez
Tim Krul
Theo Walcott
Bojan

All wear Nike boots.
Interesting
Can you post the article?
Do you remember when blades instead of studs were first coming out and getting blamed for lots of knee injuries?
( I snapped my ACL PCL and Hamstring but that wasn't due to the boots...it was due to the big fat bastard who landed on my standing leg and bent it until it was 90 degrees in the wrong direction!)

Mind you I've no idea what the % of players that wear Nike boots in the first place is?

I have said for ages that there has to be some correlation between knee ligament injuries and these bladed style boots. The blades have less give when they are planted in the turf - so what's the next thing to give? Ankles and knees.

It has to be more than coincidence, it would be interesting to see the same exercise for Adidas bladed stud boots.

Glad I chose old school Puma Kings - moulded studs. Total throwback!

'Unhappy coincidence' apparently...

Could well be in a small sample size
The tweet I posted earlier has all of the knee injuries listed, and most wear Nike. However I've no idea whether most players wear Nike in which case it would be expected. If they don't then there are quite a few unhappy coincidences

Apparently, 55% of Premier League players wear Nike and 35% wear Adidas.

I don't think Matty James wears nike boots. He did his towards the back end of last season (might have even been against QPR last game, not sure).

I do wonder whether it really matters what the make of the boot is but it is more due to the carpet slipper, light weight design of the boots which are so low cut they do not give any support or protection to the ankle and subsequently causes strains to leg muscles.
