Loads of others, Coventry in the cup last week, away to Cardiff earlier in the season we conceded two poor goals and then absolutely dominated them for 40 minutes. We would have beaten most teams that night.

Exactly PTF. We are forgetting though that we have won more than almost anyone else!
Yeah, the table doesn't lie, we're the second best team in the league over the season so far. But we need to get back to winning ways before long or we'll be slipping further down the table. I believe the team and the manager are capable of doing that though, and I think Adkins is still massively in credit. Even if don't get promoted this season his position is not in doubt for me.
Times like this I wish I could use my computer at work rather than the iPhone. Lots to say but too slow to do it, so bullet points.
1. Yes, we are still second which we would have taken.
2. Nigel is not beyond criticism but calling for his head is daft. What for? Dropping to second? And who would you replace him with?
3. The transfer window isn't closed and we know how hard a bargain NC drives. Let's suspend judgement until the deadline.
4. Our slump coincides with a list of injuries and suspensions. IMO the back up players are not that bad, but having to play most of them at once leaves us vulnerable. We do need to strengthen, but mostly we need the big players back.
5. Some of the reactions on here are a knee jerk. We win a couple of games and the mood will change.
6. Booing our own players after a poor half?

Sorry cant agree he has been very good but hes actually not played alot he didnt start the season in the team then had a short run in the side and then got injured for me Cork has been our best midfield this season but deano and morgan also very good for the most.
Not entirely sure why you are being rude to me MMJ. Just because you obviously dont agree with what i have posted doesn't mean you have to be like that. So I take it next week if we lose and I am right you will offer an apology or will you still carry on with petty insults?
I am not being rude, I am being honest. You seem very willing to call for nigel's head if we go 3rd ffs which is idiotic, foolish, shortsighted etc. Thank christ you are not in charge of the club
I think to be fair to MMJ it was your comment about calling for Adkins head that he nor I can understand. I will try not to resort to insult and explain my point rationally. We are new to this league and we are 2nd at the end of Jan. I repeat 2nd at the end of Jan.............. how the hell can you call for his head if we drop to third. Just because we have had it too easy as a Saints fan for the past 12 months does not mean we desert the man that got us there after dropping to 3rd, possibly still only 3-4 points off top.
Furthermore have you seen our injury list????? There is a reason we are having a tough time at the moment. Adkins is doing the best job he can and for one as long as we stay in this league and don't get relegated the mans met my expectations at the start of the season. At the moment he has far exceeded them but that doesn't mean we cast him off the SS Southampton for dropping out of the automatic promotion places.
All teams go through a bad patch. I wouldn't say it's dire at the moment, just look at the league tab le. We still are in it to win it. I suggest you have a little faith in our team and our manager as anything else will not help........ simples!!
Ok, so at what point would you say "thanks for all you've done nige, but i think you've taken us as far as you can"? I really do think he's done a good job in getting us out of league 1 but he has blown any chance we had of auto promotion. If that makes me idiotic so be it. I just think im less blinkered than other saints fans who think everythings ok. Now thats short sighted in my opinion
Blown any chance of automatic promotion........ I will say this again............ LOOK AT THE TABLE!!!!!! How the hell have we blown auto promotion. We are second!!!!!! Plus even if we did not achieve the auto's and made the play-offs can you honestly say you expected us to come 1st or 2nd in the championship at the first time of asking????? WE STILL MAY DO IT

Look at the bigger picture. Last night no lambert, no lallana, no fonte, no chaplow. These are really some of our most influencial players. We still could have won that game last night if we had taken our chances. This was against a team that has spent big and they clicked last night.

Ok lets look at our next run of fixtures. We will lose to cardiff and west ham in my opinion then autos are well and truly gone. Yes we are second at the moment but opposition teams have figured us out now and ultimately that's nigels fault that he has done nothing to sort that out.
Come on lads, ffs, we had Rickie, Adam, Chappers and JoseFonteBaby out last night, they ARE our most influential players. By all accounts we have a very 'exciting' young Japanese striker waiting to join the fray! Get this lot back and firing and I'd fancy us against any team home or away!
ps. If Connolly hadn't passed the ball back to Schmeicel and did what he's paid to do, we would have won last night. It's all pshycological.

even if we do lose to those teams, which is by no means guaranteed, i'd still say it was a little outlandish to rule out autos. We have seen first hand how easy it is to close a gap in points
