I'm with you all the way on that comment Angelic as we constantly shoot ourselves in the foot by either lack of action or good business acumen. The problem that I see is that one person rules the roost and without that person on your side on all things football the new man can fail quite quickly and I can't see it happening. Go and get Rob Edwards and make him an offer he can't refuse but if you feed him mushroom manure he may end up elsewhere - like Middlesbrough. I would like to be a fly on the wall during hiring interviews just to hear what is said about the commitment the new manager will get from the top down. The support that any new manager gets is critical for all concerned as that is the basis for the whole team set-up and only when we have a settled competitive side can we move forward. If indeed both Twine and Mehmeti leave then I don't think the loss of goals they produced should be easy to replace with more prolific players up front who can actually score. It will be whatever the prophets allow but it had better not be as boring as in previous managerial tenures, as a return to tippy tappy across and backwards football is not what we want anymore. I truly think that until such time as Lansdown has the balls to sack both Tinnion and John boy and bring in professionals that know how to do the job, we will continue down the same old apathetic road and ask the same old questions.
Go on then I will ask, what is it you want and seen that you like in Rob Edwards? Or is it just what you’ve heard on here?

Like RP, I’m hoping that the delay is down to the club negotiating for John Mourinho. He was the clubs first choice when they got Manning because he was going for promotion with Portsmouth. So I’m hoping it’s him, that’s holding things up. Will he come will take some persuading. But to me he ticks all the boxes to take this club forward.

More aligned to Pearson’s type of play.

Yep the got the Nige bit right and laid it on a plate for Manning. :emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl

Yep, those 14th place finishes really set us up, then he sold the “family China”. When someone else did that to balance the books they were hammered on here…..
What it does show is, apart from the odd exception, when it comes to spending over £2-3m regardless of the manager, we get it wrong, so the issue is surely the recruitment team, not the managers.

we should drop the attention being given to Norwich and LM he is now part of our past history and a positive part at that .
and move on and get into the New manager at City as final interviews are currently taking place and we should know before Tuesday!
Which Tuesday?

A lot of teams across the leagues are looking for new managers right now and if we take too long to make our decision we could end up with a lesser being. I saw somewhere that we would announce our new guy on Tuesday next week but knowing our past I think that could be a bit of a dream scenario. The next 3 or 4 weeks will be rife with new managers and players signing on for new teams and those who dither will be left out in the cold in the remnants department. If we have a leading candidate that fits all of the requirements then we must sign them up not later than yesterday as standing around waiting for miracles to happen doesn't work, especially for us. Get him in and then discuss his needs in the player department and then go out and get them, after you get rid of Mehmeti, Fayulu, Armstrong and Twine (some of those may follow Liam) and replace them with a 25% improvement in scoring person. Anyway good luck to whoever.

Mehmeti - as frustrating as he was - was still our top scorer.
If we get rid of him - and don’t replace him - then RP might be happy but we will be 14 goals down next season.
