As you can see IF we beat Southampton we go 1 point ahead of them.
we have a total of 2 draws and 2 losses = 10 points dropped v non top 6 and they have dropped 11 with one game left
We need to have dropped no more than 10 after next 2 and need them to have dropped 13 against the non top 6 teams.
city 4 draws were west ham, palace, southampton, southampton and their one loss was v palace.
Our 2 draws were brighton (top half) and brentford and two losses were leicester and west ham.

Spurs: city lost to spurs in nearly the first game and lost to spurs 3-2. we actually did better v spurs.
Arsenal: city beat them twice. we beat them twice
Utd: city beat them twice. we beat them twice
we both drew out games
chelsea: city won both 1-0 for 6 points. we only took the 2 points so thats the issue. cheslea ****ed us over basically.

I think this is fairly clear that its being mean at the back and scoring "enough" that's got us to 92 points. the trend on goals scored has been down single January as well but the defence improved as well.
The funny thing is the old stereotypical 90 points for title and 70 for CL holds true. is +/- 3 points again.
70 would have done arsenal this year. 69 was what we got last year and took 4th.
90 is a massive total and having two sides fighting at that level in 3 of last 4 season is reminiscent of real v barca 10 years ago. it didn't last there and it won't last here imo. 90 for a title is a good target imo.

Problem is, out of the 2 teams I think were more likely to fade away than city. Klopps new deal is obviously massive but next 2 years coukd be a rebuilding job with mane Salah firmino potentially coming to the end. Hendo will be 32/33, vvd will be similar. The rebuilding of the core of our squad needs to be looked at next year or two, don’t want to get into United territory where Ferguson left and completely ignored the weaknesses in that squad.
City on other hand will just continue spending. Obviously if and when pep goes, they’ll have to find a man to replace him but having a lot of money will help them ease into job. When klopp finally leaves need to hope he’s left a squad in place for the new man, and that he is backed
Thats very true. Its a major effort to sustain that level over time without the masses of dosh thrown at it.
City might get into trouble with superstar syndrome once pep le stink leaves.
The one thing you can say about pep, he only allows HIS ego in there, nobody else. I just refuse to believe the Ronaldo, pogba etc etc rumours. if city really wanted anyone they would get them. haaland is arriving and i hope is is an absolute crock.
for our squad the thing is its only this year that the squad has actually been strong.

I was almost laughing at werner and henry turning up. They were there for the cup finals but they really are archetypical absentee landlords. LFC pays LFC's way. The end.
their commerical work and lack of fingers in the pie helps us but they are no sugar daddies. They have grown the business side to compete but the club has to pay its own way and go do things better than others. smarter, not just richer.

forget the X whatevers. look a the scope for klopp turning this lad into a pressing monster. he's got how many goals without actually being in a side that will win that ball high up. compare to salah.... VERY similar. Salah absolutely exploded when he got under klopp. jota absolutely exploded. This kid is going to enjoy this season
One standout for Nunez is his unusually high shot accuracy - Nunez has a shot accuracy of 49% in his entire club career (291 shots)

Yep Milner very effective when he wins the ball (unfortunately doesn't;t happen enough!).
Elliot is a very high volume pressure but needs to work on his efficiency. I'm sure it will come in time.
Bar the fact that Elliott hardly played so it's not apples with apples.
The quality of stat of fabinho is high and for the 3 main forwards but guys who rarely play or are put on later in games where pressing might not be as desired means it's not really comparible.
One thing to think about is that a successful central press or at least in the lines of the pen area is much more likely to yield a chance than a press out wide where another pass would be needed.
Talking of stats, I've only just noticed that you've got over 100k posts on here. That's some going, mate - especially with the amount of stuff you put into them.
