Few things to notice:
- VVD is crucial in our build up play in terms of volume of passes but also quality of getting the ball up the pitch and in dangerous areas
- Trent makes the most positive impact with his passing
- Trent to Salah is a key combination. They link up so well.

He has quality. He’s shown it in the past. His debut v West Ham. The opening game v Norwich couple years ago. Was excellent in games and he fits our midfield perfectly when he plays well. Just needs to do that consistently over 10 games in a row. Does that and stays fit for a season and we won’t need a new midfielder
That's the problem. As everyone knows, I'm his biggest fan but I have zero confidence in him staying fit. I actually have faith that OUR staff can keep him fit but the issue is his national team. They have zero clue on how to manage him - all they care about is flogging him whilst he's with them. They don't give a sh*t how they return him back to LFC.

this gini love in stuff is hilarious. If the guy believed in his talent he would have been one of the very best. He didn't believe so he held the ball
that keita stat includes more actual passes and ability.
The issue for me is his injuries have been recurring muscular strains and pulls and when you are at this you are scarring and they are just going to reoccur. Unless they have resolved an underlying condition like a hip or back. So yeah, its as inevitable as the sun rising in the east that he will pull up at some point with a hamstring strain.
In truth the pundits wanted to big up Norwich. were almost desperate but they could only get in once for a shot from pukki but the angle was ****. They corssa few but we comfortably cleared it all.
I think the baove is a heap of **** around half time. We controlled the game form 40mins or so and norwich came out for 2 mins max second half and we took total control.

Yep, I was surprised to hear the pundits saying the game was close. Redknapp even went onto say that there wasn't;t much between the two teams LOL.
We were quite comfortable but let them have too much of the ball. There was a ridiculous first half stat of 55% possession for Norwich.
I've moaned about his passing in the past (not his ability but the amount of time he takes) but I think that's a lack confidence due to not getting game time.
As people have already said, he's got the talent but needs to add consistency to his game, needs to stay fit to achieve that.
He rarely deployed the longer balls though. It's nice to praise it bit there is more to come there.
One thing that stood out was how few times we needed to play back to alisson. Aka how comfortable it was for us. I would hazard a guess that the passes shown in this to big al occured second half.
Aldo keita and milner switched second half so the main supply to.midfieod was into those two you can see why I called ox an anonymous performance compared to the business he showed in preseason.
Hes not showing up as available for a pass there.
I know some say we need another forward but bringing back Aldridge smacks of desperation

This is the PAPA chart (Possession Adjusted Pressing). This chart shows the level of pressing we do but also facts in possession (because we can only press if we don't have the ball i.e. if the opposition dont have the ball, our pressing numbers will be low, and vice versa).
As we can see, we pressed a lot in the first 15 but surprisingly dipped after 15 mins and we got a goal (kinda against the run of the play).
Once we got the goal, we continued to control and press very well as we chased the second goal. Once we got that second, we took the foot off the gas (which is definitely something we do by design - most likely to conserve energy for the next match).
