Almost saturation coverage in the football press today regarding Amorim and his determination to play the game his way. Much of what has been written pretty much echoes the points we've raised her, so it's not just us. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.
We know exactly what comes next, he gets driven out and then the next fall guy comes in.
Can't deny that he should be flexible. But I also stand by the fact he is adamant that when what he's trying to implement is fully up and running, it will work. Got to admire that, it's a million miles from being egotistical, it's just confidence in his own methods.
He is now, however, being pecked at by all sides to revert back to the very much tried and tested 4 2 3 1 , as if this is some form of Manchester United philosophy!
Let's be honest, if we are genuinely wanting to go back to the United way, it should be four four two.
And guess what, we'd
still have the yawing gap in the centre of midfield due to the current lack of legs and quality.
If it gives him some breathing space though, he should definitely have that double pivot (Mainoo and Casemiro IMO) behind a three and a one, until such time he gets his legs in midfield, hopefully January window.
He won't though, so this is only heading one direction.
I genuinely hope he quits instead. And gives everyone a large **** you on the way out. Let some other sap try to get the likes of Ugarte, Dalot , Bayindir and Shaw to play some football.
Calling him out for not being able to improve players of such limited footballing intelligence is ludicrous to be absolutely honest. But he is trying to fit some square pegs into round holes at the moment and it needs to be resolved.
