What would ppl choose we do when it comes to a striker?

We're clearly interested in Hojlund but Atalanta want silly money £70m reported.

We're now apparently looking at Randal Kolo Muani who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, probably for a more reasonable price.

So what would ppl prefer we do. Go balls deep for Hojlund and pay the premium, or say fck you if they knock back our offer and go for Muani?

TBH i know **** all about either of them and have to trust ETH if he want's one of them.
If you know much about them how would you rate their value and chances of performing for us at a high level?

I don't tbh. Just had a little read on Muani, seems a decent prospect. Versatile, has pace, good dribbler able to collect the ball and drive into the box. Scored a few last season and played for France (as RWF).

Only what I read though.

Tbh I trust Ten Hag either way, the main thing for me is we get it done so whoever comes in has a decent preseason.

So a right sided Rashford then?
We need an actual striker to complinent players like Rashford and net anything loose in or around the box.

I don’t know if it is enough to simply say that we trust ETH. The fact is that not all his signings have worked out because you never really know how players will fit in, especially if they are coming from another league.

I would prefer a known baller within the league than from outside. If Atalanta is asking for £70m for that kid, fk ‘em!!! We might as well go for Kane or Toney in my opinion.

No he primarily plays through the middle. But he's been played on the right for France bcos he can.

Alvaro Fernandez played against Lyon. He looks really decent. Comfortable with the ball, dribbles, runs with it and can use both feet to put in decent crosses. I dare say that he looks better than Malacia.

I’d rather we spent 100m on Kane.

Dead horse beating here… salaries and why we should care about them.

This is the number one reason why we continue to struggle to sell players who negotiated salaries under the leadership of the wayward Woodward. The result is that it is directly impacting our ability to accelerate recruitment plans for the manager, especially for a top striker who is a finished article.

Paying higher salaries for players that are mostly bang average is ultimately bad for the club. And now that we are getting fined with FFP, we have very little room to wiggle to compete for the likes of Kane.

I thought we wanted these players off the books lads?

Not sure what the complaint is tbh.
Elanga is worth that, just about.

Bailly also supposed to be going to Saudi, so that's another wage gone.

For sure happy that we are skinning the excess in the squad. But still amused by the tiny fee they are generating.

Telles is on £4.8m salary. We can’t even get that much for his transfer with two years left on his deal, I believe.

Also, Elanga certain should be more than £15m given his experience and age. In my opinion, at least.

Wage gone doesn't improve our FFP impetrative which is to ship players out, recoup transfer fees and put those funds towards new players. Wages right now is a secondary issue, we need at least another £40m from players sales if we are to sign a decent striker and other targets.

This is a good holistic view that most of us are missing. Our financial restriction is a sum of various wrong policies from yesteryears that now have real implications on what we are able to do today in the transfer market. The fact that we can’t get decent fees from rapid sale of players that are getting great salaries is at the center of it all.

Well no, sorry, it isn't.

Our income far outweighs our outgoings, always, so we are well within the FFP criteria.

The reason we were fined was some minor commercial **** up. That's it, fine paid.

United is a money generating monster and the debt is irrelevant to ffp.

Telles and Bailly haven't played for us for two seasons, if they leave on a free it's no loss. They're off the books, the squad is trimmed, job done.

I'd say Elanga is £20 million absolutely tops. That's it. Even then, we'd have done extremely well.
