By April 2022, Maguire had committed 16 errors leading to opposition goal. The system has had nothing to do with the defender’s mental state to perform.

Pointless comparing McQueen and Bruce to Maguire ' different eras, completely different style of play. Every defender was a 'traditional´ and not many teams had even heard of high press or other modern bollocks. Maguire is a liability in our style of play, he doesn´t have a decent pass in him (in any direction) and he and De Gea were culpable for probably as much as 60% or our defensive errors leading to goals. Get rid of him to Villa or Spurs or even Bayern and he can play his own game, he's not adaptable enough, end of.
