Transfer Rumours Let's ignore the big ****ing elephant and blame the latest manager, again. Are we nearly there yet?

I don't think so Chief. Well, winger yes we've got plenty of those including one very good one in the U23's. But centre half, no.

The problem isn't just the cb, it's that rb position. I think Timber provides that flexibility to play there only if we bring in a cb as well. If we just bring in one cb, whoever that is, we leave ourselves short. The soft underbelly of our defence has to be solved once and for all.

Btw I don't see it as a choice with Nkunku. I think he can still be included. Instead I see Eriksen as a bonus. We'd be getting him as a freebie. We're culling like 11 players so wages for Eriksen won't be a problem. So I think we should still be buying 4 players + Eriksen.

Ideally those 4 are Timber, Torres, DeJong and Nkunku.

We should not spend €100m on Nkunku. He literally just had a breakthrough season and he’s 24. There are no guarantees there that he will repeat it in the PL. And given our needs, €100m on him is far too excessive! Again, protracted nonsense that has now inflated the price dramatically.

Our history with record buys have been appalling. Pogba, Lukaku, Sanchez, Di Maria to name just a few,

“In footage seen by the PA news agency, Pogba said: "My thought process is to show Manchester that they made a mistake in waiting to give me a contract... and to show other clubs that Manchester had made a mistake in not offering me a contract."”

And that fkin idiot still thinks that he deserves better. I don’t even know what to say.

Overall, I too do not care for record transfers. It has been a horrible strategy for the club.

Again, not to beat the dead horse, why is it that all we hear about are those that are leaving the club? Another week is gone!

Neville makes a solid point that the sooner we have a group known and working together, the faster we can start the next season.

Maybe because they won't be working together for quite a while yet (even in training) it's a moot point?
Let the club do the business and criticise when/if they get it wrong.

“When” in this context should be used as contiguous word rather than an absolute line in the sand. As each day goes by, it indicates that we had limited planning going into close season even though we knew the season was over 5 months ago.

In other news, it appears that Timber is likely to now remain at Ajax. Protraction creates doubts! Doubts lead to mistakes! Mistakes accumulate and lend themselves to failure!

Past history tells us that as time goes on there is increasing desperation with each bid. The seller clubs can smell it. They stick to their take it or leave it stance. Exactly what happened in that Moyes transfer window I referred to earlier. Which is better: paying a bit more for the player you want or paying the “right price” for one of the players left at the end of the window?

Let’s hope I am wrong and the club has learnt its lesson.

It is silly to keep patting ourselves on the back that everything is okay on the transfer end. Even if we sign a player today, we are still effectively late to the party given the depleted nature of the squad.

I can’t really see how anyone can make an argument that it’s too early to suggest that the transfer strategy is already failing because of our indecisiveness to execute on prospects.

I would be happy to hear ETH come out and say that we will be using a lot of U23 integrated into the team for next year. I’m fine with that. But what we know is that we are looking to bring in players but we can’t seem to get sht done.

We should be concerned until there’s evidence to suggest otherwise!

Just watched the first episode of the Pogmentary on Prime - what a load of pretentious, egotistical bollocks it is. The TV is in tact only because I switched to something remotely interesting. What a greedy, selfish preening, delusional pratt he is - good ****ing riddance - how any of our managers put up with him is incredible.

If we sign a player tomorrow the best that going to happen is that they join a club WhatsApp group. There is no pre-season yet, no fixtures, Carrington is closed, everyone is away - so why the panic, why the concern. The worst that can happen is that we re-sign Fellaini ....................................oh ****.

The best of the panic is that nobody knows for certain whats going on. We could be in negotiations with many players/clubs or none at all but people read "linked with" and immediately panic if we don't buy that link.

I'm not panicked at all, just disappointed. But to answer your point:

We go off on a preseason tour to the other side of the world on 10th July - that's about 3 and half weeks away.

The tour iteself will last for 3 weeks.

The new season starts on 5th August, much earlier than usual because of the World Cup.

Anyone know about this? Just wondering like

So what do you want - a pre-season pre-season, chill. I have every confidence that the players that ETH really wants will be wearing our shirt come the start of the season - the rest is just white noise, digital click bat and sports journos justifying their inflated salaries in the off season. Have faith

Eh? What has any of that got to do with what I just posted <laugh>

I think I'd rather nail my bollocks to a plank of wood with a hilti gun than watch that if I'm absolutely honest.

I've genuinely no interest in what he's got to say.

Although fair play in keeping your TV intact, doubt I would.
