Real Madrid has allegedly made a £40m bid for Greenwood. Barcelona also interested. The Getafe manager is quoted as saying they've managed to get a great player on loan.

Greenwood has scored five goals and four assists in 15 appearances for Getafe this season and he's now a regular in their starting team after beginning the campaign on the substitute bench.
There was a strong backlash in the sporting press here against Greenwood joining Getafe (a suburb of Madrid) but Real Madrid are quite a conservative club and I suspect they would be wary of the bad press should they try to bring in Greenwood. Barca, on the other hand, wouldn't be bothered but are still having financial difficulties so I can see him staying at Getafe for a couple of seasons and then moving on.

Madrid, a conservative club? Didn’t they have multiple players on their team facing different accusations? Benzema especially.

From my perspective, there was no conviction and he should have been integrated back into the team. If he’s good enough for any other team, I don’t buy the moral charade that United are somehow a sort moral benevolent club. It’s nonsense!

Yeh I don't think Real Madrid fans would give a fck tbh. Benzema being a good example.

Once he's banged in a couple of goals and started linking up with Bellingham and Vinicius they won't be thinking twice about it.

When Sir Jm, first expressed his interest in buying the club i read an artcal on BBC that stated one of his first priorities would be to recall Greenwood from loan and re-interate him into the squad.

Real Madrid are very good at ignoring the crap their players create - once they are RM players. I doubt the hierarchy would sanction his transfer knowing all the **** in advance.

Ten Hag "Mid-January we expect many players back. Mason, Casemiro, Martinez, Malacia, so we expect Harry Maguire, of course. We expect many players to return in January."

Great news. I think we only have 1 league match in January which is against Spurs on 14th January.

Would be great to have them back for this game, even if they're an option on the bench.

Be great to have all those injured players back.

Tomorrow another big game, but I genuinely watched the Villa comeback and reached the conclusion that the toxic dressing room narrative is nothing but media bollocks.

They didn't look a bunch who weren't playing for the management.

Got to win tomorrow though!

I've no doubt the players he's picking - largely his own! and the youth players he's brought through, are fully on board and giving everything. And have done since the game against Bayern.

He needs to stick with that.

Mentally there is a soft side still but that's mainly down to a lack of confidence which gets tested every time someone makes a mistake that leads to a goal being conceded.

If we can get a run of wins together with this group of players along with those returning, then that soft side will disappear. Confidence is our real challenge now in my opinion.

Forest showed they won't be easy. Win that, beat Wigan, and we're well on the way.

Been saying that since day dot.

Still a fair scattering of those that aren't his own in the squad, but he seems to be wheedling out those not on board.

I'd think he'd go the other way myself, surprised by this.

If it's true there are a couple of clubs dangling a decent fee at us we should be taking it.

I'd guess Ratcliffe and his cohorts will ensure we get a good deal out of it.

Bringing Greenwood back would be the wrong move.

All this talk of a turn-around, a new dawn, a pivotal moment in our season after the Villa game. I don't wish to seem negative, but one swallow/summer and all that bollocks.......we've been here before - several times this season, so let's see if we can continue that same form and overcome a resurgent and determined Forest - or, true to form, suffer another embarrassing loss. Fingers crossed.

I’m with you on that! We have had too many fake starts this season. Until we can actually string a decent run of turn together, there’s no point speculating on pivotal moment. Games first need to be played and won before we can start speculating.

I have been saying for quite a few years now (to friends and family, not sure i have mentioned it on here) that one of the main things lacking in the team is a leader/captain.
Maguire,no chance. Fernandez, first one to drop his head and start waving his arms.
When i think back to Fergie days (for the players not the manager) we had 11 captains on the field regardless of the team selection.
Think of games you have seen, if a player was'nt performing or made a stupid mistake he was told in no uncertain terms by his team mates and this went right from the keeper to the attackers and they all accepted it when they ****ed up.
No patting on the back for hard luck/trying, they were told to wake up and get it right.

EDIT.....only player i see as a captain in this squad is Martinez because of his passion (high fives and chest bumps with fellow defenders when the ball is cleared for a corner/throw in etc) but not sure if he would be equally vocal when someone ****s up.

Here's the squad. We really need leaders all over the pitch not just a captain.

Find them in here if you can...

Onana, Bayindir, Heaton
Lindelof, Maguire, Martinez, Varane, Evans, Kambwala,
Dalot, Shaw, Wan Bissaka, Malacia
Amrabat, Mount, Bruno, Eriksen, Casemiro, Mainoo, Pellestri, McTominay, Amad
Antony, Garnacho, Rashford, Martial, Hojlund

Makes really sad reading where leaders are concerned dunnit :(

Yeh but I tell you what, looking at each of them, I see a lot of players there looking for a leader, looking for someone to lead them and direct them.

That isn't a completely bad thing either.
