Hate to say it - but this was the real cause of Ole's downfall - hope it doesn't happen to EtH too.
Your'e confusing desperation with intent.
Ole had Ronny foisted on him at a time when the whole dressing room was going to ****, he played him for certain reasons.
First, he knew him and trusted him as a friend, second we had no other player that could score goals or even show any passion to at the time.
ETH on the other hand has a new start with a full squad, he will pick whoever he see's as best for the job/game in all situations.
If Eric plays Ronaldo it will be because he is performing not because he needs a friend in camp, the same will be so for every other player too.
Ralf was with us to assess, nothing more. I believe he did the required job because certain toxic elements of the dressing room are no longer with us.

Sorry to disagree, but Ralf couldn't choose his preferred bog paper. What a catastrophic waste of time and money he was - any wonder CR thinks we will be another cluster **** this season

If Ronaldo can't see that there is a completely different management team and stucture in place now, and that things will different, that would be extremely weird.

If he leaves, fine, it's not a problem. If he stays though, there is no way on earth he would be let to 'train with the reserves' or whatever, any idea of this is utter nonesense.

If he's in the squad and fit, he'll be playing games.

If Ronaldo stays and tries to foment dissent and disharmony vis his strops and petulance then he will go down in estimation in the eyes of most fans even more than it’s done already.

I just hope he will keep a modicum of professionalism. The more I think about it the more I think it would be better for all concerned if he left. (Just like Juventus were very keen for him to leave). The problem now is that no one wants to take him knowing the experiences of Juventus and Utd.

The fact that he’s now trying to force his way out suggests that he knows that his position is no longer tenable. It would be stupid to keep him. We should let him leave on a free to reclaim his wages for the club.

Seriously, what evidence/quotes do you have that he is trying to "force" his way out?
Do you have any direct quotes from the man himself or even his agent?

Here we go again!

Ultimate evidence that I have is that he has said absolutely nothing to the fans. He could go on his social media and make it clear that he is committed. And silence from the protagonist in this case speaks louder than fantasy of thinking these rumours are false.

To be precise, words are out there that he is desperate to leave for a “winning project” as he draws the curtains on his career. We should ship him to Citey.

i would like him to leave but why should the club take a hit by giving him a free? He’s got another year on his contract. Even a 5m- 10m is better than nothing. Would a club like Sporting be interested or any other CL club in one of the lesser leagues ? It seems that CL football is his priority but no club or sensible manager would want him to come and disrupt their plans.

He needs to buy out his contract - end of. Just parting company by ripping up his current contract is not he answer. We either sell him for X or he pays us to terminate the contract, nothing else is acceptable.

If we don't sort his quickly his egotistical personality is going to undermine everything that EtH stands for. He is the boss, he is the focus for every player in the squad, he dictates what happens and when - CR is disruptive and needs to go..

The return of SAF - personally I see it as a positive move provided the role and focus is away from footballing matters. To have wise heads like SAF and Gill looking at operational matters at the club is, for me, sound business.

I was reading somewhere negative comments that it’s not a good thing but I really couldn’t understand where they were coming from. We need more football thoroughbred men at the operations level and Sir Alex and David Gill are football men through and through. How could that not be a good thing?!

This Barca president is like a mob! He actually excuses why they need to keep buying players yet not pay those in their books. Pure madness!!

They have signed so many players this season. I bet this club will go bankrupt in the next few years.

Let's not forget that Barca are legally committed to a €1.5m stadium upgrade withing the next two years and under Spanish law, if you don't pay up - your assets are seized. Should be fun times ahead at the Camp Nou for the next 18mths.

I personally don’t think much of Spanish law when it comes to Real and Barca. The laws are always bent for their survival.

Just watched the highlights of the Atleti game (we lost 1-0) and from what i seen i think we are going to like Malacia a lot.
The man is very combative and can actually defend which is weird in a full back these days. He also has a good cross in him, is fast as **** and has the vision and ability to play some great passes down the line to the runs of attackers.
Initial impression, fantastic acquisition.
Eriksen also sprayed some very good passes around the park and will prove well worth the signing.

Yes good game to a point, but we were found wanting in many areas of the pitch, particularly at the back, when AM introduced a raft of first team players in the second half. Given that they are two weeks behind us in terms of pre-season preparation we looked rather week. Hopefully just a blip and a good result today should give us a boost ahead of the new season.

Martial looked a little off yesterday too and he came off injured after a few hefty tackles so the issue of CR and whether he stays/plays or whether we need a new striker raises it's head again. Eriksen played a wonderful cameo - great vision, good positioning and looking fit and healthy.

We should see Martinez play today and it will be interesting to see if EtH's experiment with Maguire on the right to accommodate Martinez works out. Maguire played an excellent game yesterday by the way
