As this is the transfer thread, I wonder whether NW has had another look at the Bosman market for a striker?

I just can't see enough goals being scored from the present strike force, even with a fit Lambert to see us gain enough points to avoid us being in the relegation zone before he can go onto the open market in January, and even then the options will be limited.

I foresee him having to get players not playing presently on loans, or see if he can persuade some of his old favourites to come to South Wales.

Would he be any better than our other previous Prem loanees?

JET, Zaha, Morrison, Lawrence, Ameobi etc.

Not a great track record. Other clubs get Bamford, Abraham - we get .........

Time would tell BfB (if he even comes), only 3 goals so far over a total of 57 games for various loan clubs, might be a decent player to play alongside the likes of Lambert though?

Copied and pasted from Isawronny's comment on the Wolves Match Day Thread: -

"On the rumour front, apparently Neil has the players he needs, has been given the go ahead and all will be signed on day one of the window. Remember where you heard it first !!"

Should be an interesting New Year.

Scotland has provided us with a regular source of good players (until recently). Could be another one?

Here's Wiki: -

A goals to games rate of just over 1 in every 4. From our current crop of "strikers" or any player for that matter only Rickie has done better.

Capped 5 times for Scotland, not that, that means much.

Overall looks very promising as we were clearly found wanting in that area on Saturday.

Sounds a very good player, his goal record is incredible for a full back. 1 in 3! We'd love a striker that could do that!!

Loan move for Marcus Bettinelli

http://hammyend.com/index.php/2016/12/cardiff-set-to-make-loan-move-for-bettinelli/

Bettinelli joined Fulham in 2011 as part of the U21 youth team.

In August 2012, he joined Dartford on loan to gain first team experience.[2] Bettinelli made his debut for the club three days after signing for the club, in a 2–0 loss against Macclesfield Town.[3] Having made seven appearance so far, his loan spell was extended for another month.[4] This would happen again, as it was extended until Christmas.[5] He went on to make 35 league appearances for the club before returning in March 2013

According to Wikipedia
On 28 August 2013, Bettinelli joined Accrington Stanley on a one-month loan deal.[8]

He made his debut the same day in the League Cup against Cardiff City[8] and his Football League debut on 31 August 2013, in a 1–0 home defeat to Burton Albion[9]

Fulham confirmed on 2 September 2013, that Bettinelli would stay with Accrington Stanley for the full 2013–14 season,[10] but he was recalled on 26 December 2013[11] and was named as a substitute in Fulham's 2–1 league win over Norwich City as cover for David Stockdale.[12] On 2 January 2014, he rejoined Accrington Stanley on loan until 30 January 2014.

Bettinelli agreed a two-year extension to his contract on 10 January 2014, which will keep him at Fulham until June 2016.
