I know it’s been a bit prickly at times but I genuinely wish you all the best next season.

Same to you, would love a promoted club to do well just to shut Shearer et al up. Burnley are not going to keep clean sheets in the premier league and don’t score enough goals. I may be wrong but I don’t think they have any chance of surviving and whoever else comes up aren’t going to be good enough. Home form will be everything - would love to see 1 of the “established” teams go down next year

Hirst has been a key part of our back-to-back promotions. He’s a great team player, can pick out a pass and handles himself well. On his best days, he strings together attacking moves and brings out the best in the attacking wide players - more of a modern day centre-forward.

I’m a bit more critical of him than others here when it comes to the Premier League level. His main flaw is his injury record - he’s missed a fair chunk of football over the last two years. He’s not the best of finishers - if you’re looking for a goalscoring centre-forward. His best games at this level have been against defences that are more open when the opposition and he gets space. He isn’t a Delap type who can grab the game by the scruff of the neck and score goals. And against the better teams in this division - such as Arsenal - he just hasn’t been able to effect games and lead the line.

Goes without saying, but hands off him I really want to see him with us in the Championship.

No it was a serious question, I always assumed Delap was your first choice, when I looked at the stats, I was surprised how many appearance Hirst has had this season. I’ve often noticed comments/frustration that Delap is a bit greedy shall we say.

I usually take transfer rumours with a pinch of salt but this one was gathering pace from Ipswich supporters and forums. We’d been linked with Cameron Archer previously at £15m which is a huge no for me

It did say Hirst has two years contract left and Ipswich want to tie him down to longer before Delap leaves

Definitely how we see him, hardly a Leeds fan who doesn't want him off the books, on the same token I don't think many want Hirst either

I’d guess so? It’s an additional coaching role, funded by the Premier League, to encourage and increase the number of ethnic minorities in coaching roles. The argument being that the discrepancy between ethnic minorities in PL coaching roles (around 15% in 2022) to ethnic minorities as PL players (around 43% in 2022) is surprisingly wide.

The most shocking thing about that application form is the salary on offer. It’s below the national average, and that’s even if you hit the top end. If you get the job, but it’s around the £24/25k mark, you’re earning as much as someone on the National Minimum Wage doing regular hours! Considering the turnover of Premier League clubs and the big transfer fees potentially made from selling academy players, that salary should be higher for a Premier League academy coach, regardless of race.

Unfortunately, money talks these days. He has only had 1 PL season and although he didn’t do badly, he is too lightweight at present to play the no 10 role so would be operating primarily from out wide. I would love him to stay as I think he would tear it up in the championship but if another club matches the release clause then it is entirely up to him if he stays or goes

I just don't see how he has increased in value this season and definitely not by an extra £15m - We already have Dan James, Ramazani, Gnonto and are hoping to sign Solomon for £20m - We don't need a £35m player who might not displace James and Solomon

Hutchinson has struggled for consistency in the Premier League, but so has all our players. As the others have said, I think on paper he’s a top level Championship player. If he can get near the form and influence he showed in the second half of last season - he’ll likely notch double figure goals and double figure assists.

At his best, Hutchinson is the most creative attacking player we’ve currently got. £35 million would be a very nice profit and fee. Unfortunately, if a Premier League side comes in and wants to pay that - we’re not likely to keep him as I think he’ll want to play Premier League football. As you point out ristac - is there anybody available at Championship level we can bring in to replace him? I can’t think of anyone really. We have Burns, Philogene, and Ogbene who can play down that side - so I don’t think it’d be a massive loss - but I’d trust Hutchinson over those other three. And of course he also brings flexibility playing at number 10.

If the gulf in quality between the two leagues was represented by a single player - Hutchinson would be that player. Dilemma for Omari if an offer does come.
Another season with a promoted club*, - more Premier League games but also another relegation (probably) on the CV.
Or another championship season - can't prove himself at PL level but more likely to make headlines as the Talisman of a side pushing for Promotion.
I know what id choose, but then I'm biased.

*Don't think he's been effective enough to attract a stable PL club to offer 35 million

I think Hutchinsons decision making on the ball has been poor pretty much all season. Really hasn't been good enough in the 10 position. Holds onto the ball for too long and runs into trouble. But we havent been a good enough team unit in those forward positions all season, passing and movement hasn't really been there too often, lots of players who enjoy carrying the ball from deep.

He's had his best moments wide right. I will say though technically and physically despite being small he's been one of our only players along with Delap of PL level, they just both need to improve their decision making and positional awareness. Despite his stature I think he rarely gets knocked off the ball, he shown great tenacity and physical fitness, apart from recently he's rarely been injured despite playing a large number of games and physically unlike a lot of players, especially the forwards doesn't tend to deteriorate in the later stages of a game.

I find it hard to imagine any of our players apart from Delap will be going to a PL team (outside of those who are promoted)
