I'm guessing we're setting ourselves up for the two scenarios.

If we stay up, we get another injection of hefty TV money and Premier League riches. We'll be more financially secure and we're still set to invest in the squad - however, spending will presumably be more restricted. However, if we stay up, the argument will hopefully be our new signings have pushed us up a level or two, so there won't be the need for another transfer window of heavy investment.

If we go down, we'll be protected slightly by the parachute payments. We'll also have - on paper, hopefully - more saleable assets. Selling one or two good performers for a big profit will probably be required.

Either way, I've got faith that the club know what they're doing. I highly doubt they're putting the club in unsustainable debt, it goes against their entire philosophy and they won't want to lose goodwill.

Yeah - buy only in the most critical areas and take our medicine if we went down. There’s no doubt we’ve added some quality but at a high price. For example Greaves is a player but Burgess could have done the job at left centre back without loading ourselves with risk.

    So basically do a "Norwich"?

We got where we are so far by taking the brave, ambitious and, yes, riskier option.I'm prepared to keep trusting in KMc and MA.

Nope. Don’t do a Norwich but we don't want to be back to square one in five years because of financial ruin, we want to be challenging for Europe by then.

Maybe why the Broja deal has stalled. Perhaps we can’t afford both. Or waiting to announce another double signing?

Now links with Luton winger Chiedozie Ogbene and Trevor Challobah. I think Challobah would be a great addition on loan, he knows the club well, it's a possibility!! The Luton lad....don't know anything about him but is he needed??

No to either from me. Definitely don’t need another winger, the only position we may want is another striker - maybe a loan deal?

I'd go for another striker so Delap can also be used in the wide positions. We've got lots of forwards, the challenge is with Broadhead and Burns injured as things stand we don't have to many high impact players coming off the bench ala last season when we changed the front 3/4 positions.

Apparently we're back after Billie Jean from villa.... I'm assuming to replace Ogbene.
Do we need him? To be fair, we are a bit light in quality on the right, so may be a useful addition.

For me, it depends on if we're sticking to the three centre-backs formation. If we are, then no. In that line-up, I'd prefer a defensive-minded right-wing back who can still get forwards. Burns and Johnson provide this, but I think we could get a better standard of player on loan in this window.

Billie Jean doesn't fit that profile, as he's more out-and-out attacking. He could probably do a job in that right wing attacking position in our previous formation - but we've got Hutchinson who can play well there. Probably better to use our budget and loan gaps in more pressing areas of the team.

Nothing against the player, choosing Villa over us in terms of money and club stature is understandable - but I wonder if he's regretting not coming here to stake a claim for regular first team football. It was always going to be a challenge for him to break into that Villa side after the seasons they had under Emery.

Didn't he play more on the left for Hull? So competition for Clarke, Broadhead and Szmodics

Reports I've seen say KMc is concentrating on the right side of the squad. Also rumours Wolfenden,Luongo and Burgess may be on their way.

Given Woolfenden is in the team and Burgess was arguably our best player in December I wouldn't believe that.
