There have been no quotes from Lescott himself, though there have been quotes from Alan Irvine saying that negotiations were going well, that they hope to meet all his demands and he's optimistic that he'll sign him.

On Ince, there's been nothing other than a photo of him on holiday with Bruce, which happens every year.

Lescott is from Birmingham, which is very close to . . . .

Irvine was only recently appointed as manager (head coach) of WBA, a club very close to . . .

Irvine worked with Irvine as his coach at Everton, they are mates . . .

Hull City AFC were in for Lescott before the Irvine appointment was completed, so WBA have had to chase the deal . . .

I doubt money is a significant factor, unless Hull City AFC decide to blow his socks off to overcome the location/relationship disadvantages. Bruce has done the same, we would all do the same; if needed, move on, but not with a bad word for Lescott or Irvine, it's just not right.

It does look like they will sign him, but we can take two positives from this: we were in serious contention for a quality player and we do know the club must have been prepared to invest to get him (not too much of a future investment, more an impact investment) - plenty of time.

I think Titus Bramble is available we should definitely sign him. Quality.

Not a bad shout but might be out of our price range as he'd no doubt want big money to come to a club the size of ours.

He could well end up at a top six team and might even be Les Scott's replacement at Man Ciity.

I sometimes think you're taking the piss with these over the top suggestions Bob.

Tell you what shy don't we go for Hummels as well?

So this thread was about Lescott but is now about who can call the other the worst word. Come on ladies sort it out eh. There are outsiders reading this. We must look proper mental.

it is getting like this more and more on here. This is the only reason why I only tend to read and not post.

I would imagine there are hundreds of potential posters that are City fans that see the content and think I can't be arsed with all the name calling.

As I say, I don't want him to play for the club if his motivation is simply money, we need players who want to play for us. Now that may be players who want to play for us because of Steve Bruce and I accept that that is the same with Irvine, but if he turns down WBA and still comes here it will only be because of the money. So I would rather he went to WBA if that is where his "heart" is.

I have posted in the past that just getting players of his pedigree to sit down and talk to us is an improvement.
