So Les has stayed with the club following Cortese's departure.

Jeremy Wilson of The Telegraph now reporting that Reed will take a wider role in the coming days.

Is Katharina going to appoint Les Reed as Chief Executive?

DTLW

Don't have a problem with that apart from the fact that it would seem to be an interim appointment suggesting short term thinking. Unless Reed is the evil mastermind who has ousted Nicola :)....wow, you would have to be a mastermind to out-evil Nicola.

People keep saying that Nicola was serving his notice...if that were true, wouldn't there be a CEO lined up?

"It's such a perfect day,
So glad I spent it with you..."

Oh, hang on. You said Les Reed. I'd have preferred Lou, but he's brown bread unfortunately.

It's hardly surprising that he stayed, and it's only logical he will take more responsibility since the whole (stated) reason for Cortese leaving is for responsibility to be shared more. I don't think it implies he will be made the CEO though. He's a football guy, not a business guy.

Presumably he's going to assume responsibility for binning bids for our players.

Les Reed has been the brains behind the whole club as he has all the contacts and qualifications.

Apart from visiting and copying some of chelsea and milans pre match player training, Cortese knew eff all.

In other words the head of a company didn't know all the ins and outs of how the company worked so he appointed someone who did?

He's clearly a fool. <doh>

And my old Aunt Gladdess played better football than Matt Le Tissier once she'd taken off her Addidas Santiagos and tried my Pumas. No, she really did.

Well I think so anyway, so there.

I thought your previous argument until Cortese resigned was that he did everything and would never delegate responsibility to others because he liked to be the head man. Don't think you've ever mentioned Les Reed before all this

Careful now, you're using logic and rationale.......
