    Deserved it in the end.

Boro are the best team I've seen this season....other than us.

Meslier - 7. A bit panicky 1st half but saved smartly at his near post and smothered Doak when Boro got on top.

Byram - 7. Very good defensively and effective at the other end. The tackle to set up the 2nd goal was perfectly timed.

Rodon - 7. Defensively very good but struggled playing out from the back. Got away with the penalty.

Struijk - 7. Decent in defence but like the others, struggled to play out from the back.

Wober - 7. Impressive 1st half but a bit more subdued 2nd half. Solid enough against Doak who has pretty much demolished every full back he has come up against this season. Own goal.

Tanaka - 8. Solid as ever but with a couple of loose passes and the odd mistake. Assist for the third after a heavy touch.

Rothwell - 8. The midfield partnership goes from strength to strength. Set pieces were good again. Battled hard.

Aaronson - 8. Got his goal but was much more productive with his passing than his recent performances had shown. Much better.

Gnonto - 8. Scored. Busy. Direct. Did excellently in helping out defensively too which went unnoticed.

James - 10. Involved in all 3 goals. Defensively excellent. A perfect wingers performance and nearly a perfect 10 but for a couple of missed chances. Man of the match.

Joseph - 6. Worked very hard. Needs to get on the end of some of these crosses. Lacking confidence in front of goal.

    Subs.

Solomon - 7. Neat and tidy. Worked hard and helped turn the game in our favour by giving us fresh impetus.

Piroe - 8. Much more impact than Joseph. Assist.

Ampadu - n/a. On at full back. Great to see the skipper back.

Guilavogui - n/a. Injury time sub.

Schmidt - n/a. Injury time sub but a couple of tidy touches.

Farke - 7. Got the win. Deserved the win.

Ref was awesome. Didn't give the penalty and gave us a few decisions.

Great result. Felt like the game was in the balance for long periods, but well deserved in the end.

think emu’s scores are pretty much spot on - aaronson’s best game in a while… big shout out for both full backs… Byram involved in two of the goals, Wober did a number on Doak (after all my panicking)

mesllier’s distribution was shocking but he came off his line smartly twice to make important saves… at big moments in the game… hope it helps his confidence.

What a game, my nerves are still jangling, but how good was that to see a team come out and give it a proper go instead of the usual defence v attack we normally have to endure. Even Sheffield united sat back. Just need to sort the away form <cheers>

Yep, I’ve dug him out in the past so only right to heap praise when it’s deserved. The save from Doak was equally as important as the second goal. Three points down to Mes <cheers>

Feels good this morning, rivals losing, us beating an inform team that should make the top 6 and another win.

Top of the table 20 games in and at present on course for 94 points, I think we’ve also played everyone in the top 10 too.
