Well the priorities need reviewing then.

? What mistake?the being sold short y his defender? Or the lucky deflection off the forwards hand which fell perfectly? How was that Burge? Flanagan and luck are the only 2 things that are to blame.Another ridiculous mistake today which has cost dearly.
If we signed a keeper in January I think automatics was a possibility.
We are in the playoffs because of him, now we are set to spend a further season in league 1 because of him.

I’ve played to a decent level. But if a keeper puts his foot through a ball and it hits an attacker, how many times does it drop there perfectly fir him to run on to? If the defender gets enough on it it’s a comfortable clearance too. How many keepers would knock it out fir a corner in that situation? Never the keepers fault. As I’ve said elsewhere, Bailey Wright and McGeady cost us as much if not more than Burge tonight. But they appear to avoid criticism for their parts in the loss from some. He also made a couple of fantastic saves, o k so one ended up in the net but it was still a great save before the defence stood and watched. If you don’t consider that a mistake by the goalkeeper, you’ve never played the game of football in your life.
Burge has other options there. If he’s not confident of clearing it past the player, why not put it behind for a corner??
Bang on Disco......Burge has been decent of late, the problems last night were the hapless defence in front of him, then the totally ineffective midfield followed by a toothless forward line. All 11 should hang their heads in shame..hard to believe given the importance of this game this is the best they could all do....shocking.Wasn't Burge in the League One team of the year?
Not to say he's good enough for where we need to be. But our problems are bigger than just him.
total ****e like Flanagan, Scowen etc one day the owners will read this and realise i talk sense.

Also he’s comfortably gained us more points than he’s cost this season. I think we need better, but, at this level, he’s one of the best and the stats show that
he also made an absolutely blinding save today which he had no right making. One of the best you’ll see at this level. So, if not fir him, we’d have been behind much earlier
Sorry mate but Bailey Wright tries the Hollywood pass all the time. Thinks he’s better than he is IMO. Doesn’t matter if he’s got support. The 2 centre half’s had no outlet in midfield, the protection and option for a short pass from the back was blatant, they kept panicking and blazing passes out wide. Power & Scowen had shockers and left the defence vulnerable. Leadbitter has to play on Saturday, we are a far better team with him in it. He calms the defence because he’s always there to accept the ball and rarely looses it. The back pass from Flanagan was utter crap, he’s a liability and shouldn’t be anywhere near the team. Should have left ONien there with Wright.

It was a combination of an underhit back pass and luck not being on our side. That's all.Let’s look logically at this.
He has less than a second to make up his mind. I wonder how many on here have tried to catch something out of instinct knowing afterwards that it hurts when you catch or try to? I dislocated my shoulder a long time ago. Throw me a ball, chances are I try to catch it and it will hurt my shoulder as the decision is split second.
Had he put it out fir a corner and they scored from that, it’d be is fault fir not clearing it. Had he put it out fir a corner he’d also probably be slated for not clearing it!!
To expect a league one keeper to assess a whole situation in a fraction of a second and conclude that a corner is the best option is utterly ridiculous (I note people say “other optionS” yet only give one). A handful of premier league keepers would’ve assessed that quickly. And none of them would put it out for a corner!
He smashed it to clear it. Can anyone else remember the last time someone scored in that way? Last one I remember was Maguire 3 years ago. Which, in itself, explains a lot . It sticks in the memory because it happens once in a blue moon. If it hits the attacker, >99% of the time it rebounds to safety.
remember watching loads of clearances closed down but can’t remember any ending in the back of the net. Always a goal kick or throw in

Something that not many of ours looked like doing last night. I suppose to some extent you make your own luck. And their player busting a gut to make it happen, if he doesn't do that they don't score and there's no issue.
