I think he is honestly the worst keeper I think I’ve ever seen. He makes hard work of the easiest saves, his distribution is terrible and he doesn’t command his box at all. All them clean sheets were mainly down to the defence being solid, can’t really recall him having to make a good save. Also you just knew he wasn’t saving that penalty yesterday, all they had to do was get it on target. This problem needs rectifying in January (although I don’t expect parky to do it)

He's not the worst I've seen but he's not good enough.

McLaughlin used to frustrate me with his slow distribution. But he is the overall standard we should have in this league.

Lee Camp likes this

He looks dodgy as owt anytime he is called into action imo. Doesn't fill me with confidence at all. Him and Mathews are down in the murky depths of safc keepers with kelvin davis, camp and steele.

I haven't seen enough bad from him to slate him to this extent. It's not fair to give him no credit for our excellent clean sheet record then to blame him for conceding three when in fact they were defensive **** ups, at least two of them were can't remember the third.

Everyone knows you don't blame a keeper for not saving a pen and Marquis is a seasoned pro.

Not fair to compare him to McLaughlin either who we were lucky as **** to have and could play for a top end championship side easily.

Keeper situation is indicative of how far we have fallen. The triumvirate of Steele, Camp and Burge would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic
You forgetting Ruiter?

Burge is nowhere near as bad as the other 3, but he’s not looking good at al. Inspires no confidence. Yet he did before the season started and I was happy enough. Amazing how time out of the side impacts.

Correct me if I'm wrong but until yesterday he was the only keeper in England not to confess from open play.

Plus Lee Camp recently played for us, not to mention Jason Steele and Near Post Ruiter, all ****ing hopeless goalkeepers.

I mean Budge is League one keeper, he's never going to be out clever but the lad hasn't remotely shown the incompetence of those other three. I shudder to think about them

Then you’re ****ing stupid

On the radio on Saturday before the game, Barnes was talking to the guy that used to produce the match programme, he is now the historian.... they were talking about the great goalkeepers we had had... the record for clean sheets etc. Camp name was mentioned to general laughter... he was probably one of the worst we have ever had. Burge does not, atm look great... but imho he had not been tested enough to put him below Camp!

Rodwell would instantly be our best player.
Wow you truly are dim. I was using the Rodwell analogy to prove that, despite playing in the premier league, he’s not good enough for the premier league. As Camp isn’t good enough for the championship. Or league 1!!

Camp was good before us and good after us but in a Sunderland shirt he was truly dire. No command of his box and way below par as a shot stopper. I'm sure he even managed to shrink while he was with us.

I've at least seen Burge make a few decent saves and apart from his opening day blunder he hasn't really put a foot wrong that I can remember.
