Wow. Bowyer's catching up on Nugent, who was only in charge for, what 3 games wasn't it?

You should NEVER send a team out with a message of “we are not going to win this competition, are we?”

Bowyer did that today - he confirmed it after.

    Disappointing to say that least.

Lee Bowyer's comments today have revealed a great deal about what he really thinks.
The kind of person he really is.

Results in the league had better keep going his way, because if they do not he isn't going to hang on to his job by relying only on his natural charm.

I’ll give Bowyer the benefit of the doubt, but he’s undoubtedly had a bad day on and off the pitch. Appearing not to give a sh1t about your fans is never a good look for a manager.

The Club’s attitude to the Cup has stunk for years now, but as you say, there is no correlation to our league form. How many times have some of these players actually played for us so far this season ? 5/6/7 times. They cannot be tired. It was a lousy misjudgment by Bowyer, and he rubbed salt in the wounds after by saying he “wasn’t fussed”. It’s p1ssed a lot of fans off, you can see that across all the forums and social media. It’s not a mistake he can afford to repeat. Glibness can start to come over as arrogance.

For my part, I was going up to Blackpool next Saturday but now I don’t think I will bother. I’ve got that attitude from our manager.

I am surprised that Lee is bothered about L1 … after all we are never going to win it are we?

Precisely my view AHLL. If we are only going to put out a team for things we believe we can win, our players should be extremely well rested come may.

A good return of points from Blackpool and Portsmouth and the Cup will be forgotten, lose both and it will be remembered.

Putting to one side the frustration I have at the lack of respect he demonstrated to those of us who attended, he's naively put more, unnecessary pressure on himself for two big away games.

Didn't work did it Lee? We are now out of the Cup AND lose in the league to a promotion rival. How did Doncaster do?

Looking fairly similar to last season. With all the out-of-contract players we'll have in the summer, and the dip in Steve Avery's conveyor belt, this is the season we have to go up, preferably with new owners, or a lengthy spell in L1 looms, and the odds must be stacked against promotion atm.

According to the above table, Lee Bowyer has made the second best start to a managerial career (in the league) in Charlton's entire history.
I have to admit that is an impressive stat.
Of course, in terms of actual achievement it is too early to tell for LB.

As far as I know only Andy Nelson, Mike Bailey and Chris Powell have won promotion for Charlton in their first full seasons as manager.
(Jimmy Seed got Charlton promoted to the 2nd division in his second full season).

    PS:

Assuming Bowyer is manager for the rest of this season, similar stats for league manager win rates (after 40 or 50 games for example) will see SCP climbing the table.
His win rate in season 2010-11 was a rather poor 25%, but in season 2011-12 it rose to 65%
