if guilty then hopefully he gets the right punishment.......

No i dont go out getting into fights not my way.....

He gets paid his moeny and is role model especially to the clubs kids... if guilty and sent down, then i think the club will sack him....
Your a community and family and i think the owners would want him ../...

I take it though that as you have not got any one in just incase the club are confident that he wont go to prison!

But if the bloke deserved it then they may go lenient on him. Maybe the jury will see the "victim" and think he's a bit of a jackass anyway. Maybe he could go to jail for being an idiot and Barnard rewarded for teaching him that idiocy isn't allowed? That's what I think will happen. I'm 99% positive.

Wasn't the other guy a cage fighter? Barny must be a bit of a nutter to have taken him on anyway! He obviously cut his hand on the glass as well which kind of points to his likely involvement/guilt, the CPS would have dropped it long ago unless they were certain of getting a conviction, and the charge and injury is too serious for him to get a caution.

It does not look good for him, but who knows, only those involved I guess.

If he's guilty then it's a nasty offence and he should be punished. However, we'll just have to wait and see. Club didn't do anything (at least publically) because innocent until proven guilty. Perhaps it will be deferred again and the season will soon be over. Just thinking on a purely selfish level, I'm afarid.

bpl...why are you constantly on the saints board? is it because bournemouth have no fans and no posts to write on over on your board?

If it goes to Crown Court, it's trial by jury isn't it? I did jury service a while back and, I'm only guessing mind, that the case will take a few days to be heard in it's entirity, witnesses, testimonies, etc.

Jury service is great! You get paid time off work, free grub at the Crown court tuck shop and, when the judge fancies a POETS (on any day of the week!) he just goes home early so everyone else does too!

firstly the case can be referred to the crown court on either the judges or the defendants decision, therefore there is a strong chance lee barnard decided to go via the crown court knowing the case would be much delayed. therefore it does not mean the case is anymore serious then we first thought.
If he has glassed the man then it is likely to be a case of G.B.H, probably section 20, as he has broken the skin. this carries a maximum sentence of 5 years, however its a relatively minor case of GBH so very rare he would get to long in prison.
fingers crossed this incident doesn't derail the run in!

We're in the wrong job boys

If we were selected for jury service in Barney's case, presumably they'd ask us if we supported Saints. I know I would listen to all the evidence, weigh it up carefully, and then find him innocent (especially if we hadn't secured promotion by then!). ;-)
