Because I’m expressing my opinion that a 15 year old choosing to become a baby machine for a foreign enemy is a crime that is comparable or perhaps not as bad as someone raping and killing a child. It’s my opinion. I don’t like child rapists or child murderers. FYI, not interested in getting into one of your late night pedanticfests.

I understand what a terrorist is. I don’t think what she did is worse than a guy raping a baby.
Maybe I read it wrong, I got the impression that you thought if the death penalty was re-introduced for one crime it had to introduced for others.
As it happens, I would be quite happy for it to be re-introduced for child molestation and murder as long as the case/verdict was solid

She did. She was a very stupid, and from what I’ve seen very cold, child who decided to become a baby producing machine.
If she’s going to be executed for that then there are a lot of adults who’ve committed horrendous crimes who I would also want to see executed.
I’m watching a documentary about the Moors Murders at the minute. Turns my stomach what they did to those kids.
We either have the death penalty or we don’t. It can’t be a selective punishment based on public sentiment at the time.

It was abolished because there were an unacceptable number of bad convictions (for me that number would be one), the yanks seem to have a decent system on this whereby a death penalty can be scheduled for years ahead giving the chance for new evidence/techknowledgey to come forward. We used to sentence and carry out quickly only to find out later the conviction was dubious.
Very much this ... I can accept that she was young and easily influenced ... but I'm ****ed if I have any real sympathy for her current plight ... she chose to be part of a movement that feels it has a divine right to subject the rest of humanity to a very narrow and extreme interpretation of Sharia law ... the UK is no place for such views ... we have had generations of increasing secularisation and that has undeniably helped to increase tolerance of the faith and creed of others ... or, indeed, the choice not to believe in God at all ... if you can't accept that, and abide by such principles, stay outside of these isles... simple
