Newcastle are in form and still unbeaten this season. They played well against Tottenham and deserved to get something out of game. I cant see a poor Wigan side doing anything to upset their flying start to the season.

Newcastle 2-0.

Lawrenson doesn't think :- he sticks to the form book in a 'copy and paste type' fashion.

Kiss of death better not ring true.

The f*cking useless tw*t. Poyet has gone up in my estimation.

Newcastle maintained their unbeaten start to the season at home to Tottenham on Sunday with an excellent display. Spurs were twice in front but Alan Pardew's men just kept coming back and eventually reaped their reward.

They've got great belief and an excellent home record. Under Pardew, St James' Park is a far tougher place to go than it has been for a long time. They've got four strikers vying for two places - or sometimes one - and the competition is certainly working.

In the summer, they sold big and brought small in terms of fees but it's working and Mike Ashley will feel vindicated. He's finally getting some of his huge investment back.

Next up is a Wigan team you just can't predict - they're consistently inconsistent during games, let alone from game to game, and their defence is all over the place. I can't see them coming away with anything other than a loss.

Prediction: 2-0

Hmm...

After only just managing to secure a point against an under performing Tottenham, Newcastle, still untested in the league continue on their unbeaten run and face Wigan. Martinez needs results so I fancy Wigan to take a scalp and ease the pressure he finds himself under.

2-0 Wigan.

You actually sound just like Lawro.

The law of averages means he must get at least a few right a season.

Either that was not written by the twat or lawrenson has been nobbled and told a few home truths. What ever happened to "bit lucky" , "rode their luck" , "not played big club yet" , etc etc etc. What a two faced ****!

After Newcastle's poor display last week end they managed to secure a lucky point vs a weak Tottenham side. Wigan on the other hand played some beautiful football in their 3-1 defeat. They totally dominated the game and they were extremely unlucky not to walk away with all 3 points. I think Wigan's solid defence will be too much for the misfiring Demba Ba and his fellow Newcastle attackers. Wigan are sure to win the midfield battle and I predict a comfortable 4-0 win for Wigan.
