Assuming you don't concede any more a 3-1 defeat is not a disgrace this season at Anfield. We let in 5,West Ham four and they just got 5 away to Spurs.Decent result.

Dai - you're entitled to your opinions, but the only ones you pick up on and promote are the ones that agree with you.

This is a take from another blogging journo - if it had said the opposite, you would have kept your trap shut. <ok>

That doesn't mean other employees or customers will respect a boss who does not earn respect. Your comments about Malky's persona is not his doing. He has acted professionally towards the club and Tan. He is being praised continuously for the way he is dealing with things. Just found it =strange that you would suggest otherwise. He cannot control people praising him!

Like I said Temple, it's just an opinion of an individual based upon what he sees, reads, and in some cases, is told.

If you disagree, and think Malky is being hard done by by an ungrateful owner, then that's fair enough. It appears to be the majority opinion to be honest, but not everything is as it seems all the time.

Sometimes, deficiencies in people on whatever level can be masked by the fervour of their supporters, but are seen more clearly by those who are less passionate. We are all abundantly unanimous that Tan fits into the latter category.

Don't really want to return to the subject, so let's agree to disagree and move on.

He stepped down 2 weeks ago according to radio 5, but for whatever reason it's only come out today.

Malky Mackay: I will not resign, says Cardiff manager

Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has insisted again that he will not quit after his side's defeat by Liverpool.
The club's Malaysian owner, Vincent Tan, was at Anfield and has told his manager to resign or face being sacked.
Mackay, 41, refused to comment on his future before Saturday's 3-1 Premier League loss, but said afterwards: "100% I won't be resigning."
He added he did not know what decision to expect from Tan, who he last spoke face-to-face to "a while ago".
Tan flew into London on Friday after being convinced by Bluebirds chairman Mehmet Dalman to hold one final round of talks.
A source close to the negotiations said they were "productive", but there was no resolution one way or the other.

    Mackay's Cardiff farewell?
The Cardiff owner had previously given Dalman the go-ahead to begin the process of appointing Mackay's successor and was deciding whether to sack the Scot before or after the Liverpool game.
Cardiff striker Craig Bellamy was asked by chief executive Simon Lim late last week if he would take charge of the team on an interim basis but said no, and told Mackay about the approach.
Mackay said he could not "look himself in the mirror" if he were to quit.

I have posted that we have won 7 games in the last 31 in both divisions under Malky...we spend most of every game trapped in our own half and that is the fact of the matter so any differences between Malky and Tan is hiding the truth by avoiding it.

I agree that if we lose the next few games every fan supporting Malky here will turn and call for him to be sacked.

We saw the team he should have played in the second half he does not need to be the brightest spark on the planet to play that team for the next game and not resort to the boring team he picked to start this game today.

It is not much to ask for the manager to pick the best players and do some attacking once in a while.

If he had picked the second half players to start today I would have applauded even if we had lost by more because at least we went into it looking to win not cowering with all our players in our own half all day.

I have been thinking about this letter and really wonder if Tan told Malky to resign. Why am I wondering this? The letter may have implied, due to poor performance in Tans view, that Malky should take the honourable route and resign because Tan would not like to sack such a popular manager.
The translation into English may have been poor and poor wording could have said, "if you do not resign I will sack you." It may not be that far from the truth!

Taff ...Tan was smiling on sky as he turned up for the game this did not look like a man about to sack a popular manager.

Consider this...after the game Malky admitted he had not spoken to Tan...seriously if you had an email like that surely you would have phoned or wanted to speak to your boss before now?

He's a business man at the top of his game which makes him a worthy politician.

I've seen some immature comments and arguments on the board today, as we are all Cardiff supporters we should disagree with respect, consideration and critically intelligence.

I don't often post but I want to quickly get some views across; let's face it; this bloke Malky knows the players on a much more intimate level than we will ever know. He sees them day in day out and knows what they are capable of. Cornelius is returning from a long injury and would have needed time to adjust to the league- this was taken away from him.
I completely stand by his decisions unlike many and further than just saying 'are you a PL manager?' I want to note the following:

Imagine we start with the attacking line up.
    (Campbell, KimBo, Cornelius).
Consider the giant hole in front of the back four, right where the best player in the world currently- thrives.
Liverpool didn't exploit this in the second half because the job was done by then, over 90 minutes? We would have been hugely punished.

Suarez goes on the rampage and Liverpool rip us apart critically on the wing overlap (where KTC and AT have been unimpressive). With even less defensive cover we would have been 6-0 down by half time. Like it or not we do not have the quality to play attacking against a team in this vein of form.
I think Malky was hoping for a 1 or 2 goal deficit by half time- admittedly this didn't quite work out but what can you do?

    I'd rather lose 3-1 than 7-2 ... That's a 2 goal or 5 goal deficit.
We take our hat off to Suarez today.

I agree that our defensive tactics in easier games can be frustrating- but as I said months ago I would have happily taken 17th place- we are 15th and not far off midtable.

I understand that plenty of you are unhappy... But I'm not!! Proud to support my team in the PL - despite all this crap.

Wishing you all a very Malky Christmas.

I think only JCK is saying we should have gone at Liverpool. The rest of us acknowledge we were beat before we started due to the massive ap between the the 2 squads. We do not have a single player that would make their bench! That is the difference.

Liverpool took their foot off the gas 2nd half. They played more on the break and assumed correctly we'd never score 3 and they'd have chances to score more. They should have scored at least 1 more 2nd half. I think the biggest difference 2nd half was we managed to get a bit of help around taylor and stopped letting them isolate him.

As I said on Thursday night if Tan had issued this ultimatum MM would have been sacked by Wednesday IMO. The translation theory is plausible.

There's been a lot of 'facts' written in the press about this situation based on a mixture of a single BBC story about an email and a **** load of hearsay.
