Forcibly, by Ashley and Charnley, as he "signed" a 6 year deal.
A change in tactic? Or merely so we get our money's worth?
Think we all know the answer. Pretty pleased like, by the end of this season he could easily be our most sought after player by virtue of being decent and English. Anything that suggests we'll charge stupid money, that no one will pay, sounds good to me.

Could squeeze his way into the national team before the world cup, then we're talking 30 mill atleast.
Stones went for £50m and that was before the price hike we had this summer. If Lascelles gets to the level that elite clubs want him at all, that's the figure you are starting at. If he gets to that sort of level and is regularly in the national side he'll probably be England captain. Lots of ifs, mind, but he is improving. Rafa having them so well organised is helping his cause though as I still have some doubts over his pace and awareness.

Anyway, it's good to get him on a long term deal as he'll be a good EPL defender for years to come.

I think those doubts are shared by others and will affect pricing. Stones needed a good year of rumours to bulk up the price n all. I reckon if he went next summer it would be to someone like Everton for 30m plus add-ons. Like you say though, if citeh and Chelski are sniffing it goes up considerably
