This is a good example of how a match day thread meanders along in it's own sweet way rather than petering out due to there being nothing further to add to the crushing disappointment of our abject display.

Do we really need our mods deleting posts as happened last season in order to tidy things up ? By which I mean, who is it hurting that a few posters are having a an exchange of views/opinions long after the match has finished.

May I therefore suggest a compromise that board members try their upmost to keep match day threads match relevant whist still allowing the odd comment and witticism to add a certain je ne sais quoi to the proceedings.

If that's deemed not possible due to some posters lack of consideration for others then perhaps we need the Alternative Match Day thread running concurrently alongside so that posters have somewhere they can freely converse on match days as usually there is no Breakfast Debate at weekends.

Just post it on any other thread other than the match day thread pal <ok>
It's doesn't feel right though posting on a 2/3 day old thread when there is a perfectly fine thread alive and well which corresponds to that day. In addition people are going to think it's somehow relevant to that old thread which it would not be.

Just bringing the other side of the argument to the table so that hopefully other opinions are at least considered.

There is a simpler solution.

Strict football-only policy on the match day thread until the game finishes, then relax the rules and let people post what they like - no endless tidying up either Bucks!

Might make for good reading too. <laugh>

Gets my vote. <ok>

Just my opinion but when the game has finished people still like talking about the game, discussing what went wrong, who played bad, player ratings etc.

I find it amusing that out of the dozens of threads every week they can all have as much banter as anyone sees fit but so many seem upset that the match day thread must remain banter free.

Only one thread on a match day Ristac, anyone can still debate the game to their heart's content after the game's over as in days of yore, but people might also make non-game-related posts after full time.

Don't see why that's so amusing to be fair. <ok>

I thought Elland still ran a good morning thread on match days?

Find it amusing/strange that there are some asking for threads to be kept on topic less banter and some asking for banter to remain. The compromise is match days to be on topic, any other thread it doesn’t matter yet those wanting banter still complain that ONE thread has to remain on topic.

I respect there are a lot of people enjoy the banter yet it seems some can’t respect that there are a good few find it too much.

Nothing personal <ok>
