It all comes down to Lambert. He has complete football control here. I certainly don't believe he's making any imminent plans to leave.
If Everton came in for Lambert he'd be gone in a flash. He'd love that job.
Lambert is ambitious and he has a thing for attendance figures and stature. I don't think financial figures bother him in the slightest, its the crowds and the challenge which turns him on.
It's not the same, we may have the capacity at an absolute push in 3 years, but we don't have the history of Everton, Lambert loves all that, he's not a plastic go where the money is manager. He likes that encompassing size of a club, history. Don't kid ourselves that we can compete with Everton, we are miles away from that. They are at least 2 rungs up from us in that 2nd tier of size.
timing is everything. if lambert makes his next move too early he could jeopardise his entire managerial career - lambert is no mug. everton are certainly a bigger cub than us but i really think timing is the main reason why he wouldn't go there at the moment. in the future, maybe in two years time, i think its a job which could entice him but not in the middle of his current job. next season is massive in his career - he may fail to keep us up or he may take us forward or maintain our levels which would prove how good he is. agree completely that he is not driven by money and thats a reason why we should be thankful, not worried. i really do not understand the concern - he will move when the time is right for him. you don't have to be a genius to see that its not right at the moment.
I also see the fact that Moyes has done a very good job there, all Lambert could do is the same. With Norwich there is still the potential to make a stable prem side then move on.
