Just out of interest, would any of you buy Lallana back for 8 million? MY gut feeling is that Rickie is done with top flight football and that Lallana wont make it at Liverpool. The fans wont tolerate anything less than last season and they arent going to pull that off. He'll be one of the scapegoats.

So, if he said sorry, took a massive pay cut (lol) and wanted to come back would he be welcome?

Well he said he'll never pull on a Saints shirt again, so sorry Twatbeard, you've made your bed...

The press and pundits seem to like Big Sam don't they? Seems to me a bit of an anomaly. There will be the odd game like today where they put on a performance. When I say performance, I mean of course that they actually play football. You then proceed to get this palpable sense of relief almost, from the press and pundits. How and why is this. A majority of the time they are truly awful to watch, but they never go to town on him.

Glad they won today though.

Because he's effective.

I would buy Lallana at 8m only because I think he could easily be flipped for 10-12m, generating a nice profit. In terms of helping the side though, no. We have the attacking MC and winger position adequately covered and I am not sure Lallana would improve on what we have.

Although that is not an entirely fair comparison. We did spend like 30m on Tadic, Long, and Mane to render Lallana somewhat redundant. If we could have sold Lallana for 20m and turned right around and bought him for 8m instead of what we paid for Long and Mane yeah, I would have done that if he truly wanted to come back.

Yeah, I'd have him back if he wanted to come back. He's never getting that armband back though. Truthfully, he wouldn't be a guaranteed starter, with Mane and J-Rod to come back into the front line. Tadic has proven himself so for me only Long is an area of concern. But both JRod and Mane are quicker than Lallana so if they're scoring I wouldn't know what to do with him. He'd be a squad player. Shows the quality we have right now. Good times.

I would never accuse West Ham of playing attractive football, but I do have a bit of grudging respect for Allardyce.

He actually plays a good brand of hoofball. Yes, they play long passes an awful lot, but it's not ALL long passes. And in general there's a little bit of organization and tactical thought into even their longballs. It's not just kick and pray.

I mean, overall yeah I think West Ham plays rather boring and I'd prefer never to play that way. I just think it's a little unfair that they seem to be the poster club for "hoofball" when there are others who do it more, are even worse to watch, and don't even manage to get results. They are nowhere near as bad as Pulis Stoke or Sunderland.

You coldnt have watched them at St Mary's the last three games then. All three games were blind hoof.

I guess that's relative to what their ambitions are. Getting to the Olympic stadium as is often mooted, or just consolidating? Lots of West Ham fans are certainly not happy with the aesthetic though, not that that necessarily means they would be more effective. That would depend on the manager I guess.

West Ham fans are a deluded bunch. Big Sam has done everything that's been asked of him yet they still complain that they don't play like Barcelona.

I have far more respect for Allardyce than for Redknapp. Much better manager...Harry just flies by the seat of his pants.

Daft or what...was in kitchen when they announced the PL table on the repeat of MOTD...had to rush in just to gaze at it<laugh>

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Spam fan, but I remember the Branfoot days. Although Sam has achieved what his bosses have required, I'd be fed up with neck ache by now.

No. He's burnt his bridges. **** him. I'd take Lambert back in a heartbeat though.

I'd take Rickie back. Not saying he would start all the games, but he still has a lot to offer. Great guy too. Adam, hmmmm, don't think so.

I think the difficult experience of our Big Time Charlie's chasing big wages over the summer may prove to those who are still with Saints that the grass may not be as green as it seems on the other side with the Big Boys.

Yeah this will have absolutely no effect at all

would not want any of them back. Still respect lambert for all he did for us., and the way he left the club, but his time is past, and in truth we have moved on. The others can rot at their underperforming "spiritual homes" looking forward to being sold or loaned out next season when the truth finally dawns on Brenda. Chambers looks like he will miss most of the season through suspensions if his first 5 games are a guide!

Said it when he moved, can see him going the way of a Downing/Ashley Young type. Very good if he is the main point of a team, but surround him with better players and where he isn't the focal point and he isn't good enough for a top side.

Which brings you back to Tiss!? Maybe he had the same thought.

Funny thing with Lallana now, I watch him and I have difficulty in remembering what was so brilliant about him (ok, then I look on You Tube but you know what I mean!) And since when was he so odd looking?
