Koeman's worst sub decision?

I would have kept Reed on the pitch because at the moment he's our most (and probably only) defensive minded midfielder. Davis and JWP can't work as a defensive midfield pairing, they're as tough as butter.

But I don't think the substitution has affected the game massively. There was really only one opening for Shelvey, and he scored a cracker. 9 out of 10 times he would have missed.

Yeah, that's about how I see it. I didn't like the sub at the time, but it wasn't quite the disaster some are making it out to be. I think Koeman wanted more of a two up top look, as Pelle was getting isolated and we never had anyone else in the box. But it didn't work out as we then failed to control the midfield like we did in the first half.

I would have put Mane in for Elia and shifted Tadic to the other side. And if I'd had Cork on the bench, I would have put him in for Reed.

Speechless. We dominated the game with Reed pivotal in that. I absolutely agree with Mane coming on but it had to be for the totally ineffectual Tadic or JWP. Shocking that the one reason I would have kept JWP on for was set piece delivery only to see Tadic taking corners and failing to beat 1st man. That sub lost us the game.

Didn't agree with it but was by no means an unreasonable decision. Personally thought the bigger problem was that our forward shape was completely disorganised once Mane came on and a few times just got in each others way, at one point Tadic, Mane and Elia were all within 5 yards of each other on the left.

I thought Tadic should have come off (as I mentioned to FLT) but he made an attacking change and it didn't work. **** happens. He can't get it right every time.
I love Koeman. He has been an absolute genius and today Swansea did a good job, rode their luck and got a great win. We have done similar many times this season. But taking Reed off was in my opinion a school boy tactical mistake. It's not simply a case of taking off a defensive midfielder for a forward. We didn't need to do anything drastic - it was 0-0. No Wanyama, no Morgan, no Cork - Reed was just about our only and definitely best holding midfielder. Our midfield was ravaged after he went off. I just don't want to think Ronald would make such a mistake again. No need for panic but frustrated as today was such a missed opportunity.

Tadic has always been rubbish playing on the right and no way should he be taking corners, that's JWPs job. Reed should have stayed on and Tadic should have been subbed off in my humble opinion, no good crying over spilt milk, how better will we be with our engineroom restored against QPR?

The change gave us no balance at all and made it much harder to build an attack. All game we looked vulnerable on the break, but it was fine with Reed keeping an eye on a Swansea counter. Our shape was horrendous at the end. I don't see the point in throwing an extra attacker on if Elia and Tadic weren't going to take more defensive responsibility. Ward-Prowse, Elia or Tadic should have been removed to make way for Mane.

The most logical adjustment was just to switch the wingers round. Put Tadic on the left, where he is far more effective, and keep control of the game. A point wouldn't have been a disaster.

It almost paid off as Mane nearly won it for us. I didn't see a lot wrong with it, think were all peeved that Swansea did a smash and grab. If Williams wasn't on the pitch we might have won!

**** off! Yes he can.........

Reed is young though. Maybe Koeman took him off because he didn't think he couldn't last the whole 90 minutes. One positive from today Reed is shaping up to be a good prospect.

Koeman went for it taking Reed off. The goal came because our defence were not shielded, the same with the Palace goals. That is why Wanyama and Schneiderlin are so important in covering our defence.
