Knowledgable

I think we spent 25 to 30 million on the likes of N'Dong. Papy etc...I hate Short more than anyone at the moment but this guy is a total waste of a salary...if things are that bad get rid of this f8cker...
Any money coming in from transfers will be spent on the debt mate.
Like the Pickford dosh was.

I thought we'd be doing better than this, the standard of the league is quite poor and I thought we'd be ok. We still might be to be fair if we can add size and strength to the team with a few canny loans.

We aren't down and in administration yet lads. Only a few points away from escaping relegation and what I saw in the first half looked promising if we can add a couple of attackers in this window and strengthen elsewhere.
Spot on as there's too many emotional negative posts at the moment. In reality we will scrape up this year and ready for a fight at the the top end next season. Yes I feel really down even listening to Beat Surrender not helping but we will recover. Anyway JCS played OK and King Charlie had a traumatic introduction to life at Sunderland.
No more wantaways in our team though we need solid composed focused team players :emoticon-0148-yes:

Want to put Bain into the mix here as well. That f8cker needs to go as well. I know on this site some people thinks the sun shines out his ass but he has been a complete disaster. Give him a bone on the Coleman appointment but since he came to the club total freefall. He came in on the back of Big Sam building a decent squad....the rest is history. I wonder if he is still taking advice from Moyes and Smith....let's get another trip to New York organized...a jolly boys outing.....yep lay a few more off to pay for that......ffs. As a finance guy it was imperative we stayed in the Premier League because of the income. Spend money to make money...last January sealed our fate and clearly it was well we will drop into the Championship restructure and come straight back up. Last Summer spending 1.5 million on 10 players...great Mr Bain to but look where the f*ck we are now. Pay peanuts you get monkey's. Short as we know has to accept ultimate responsiblility because Bain was his appointment but this just sums up Short. Never got it right off the pitch.....
Yeh I agree

Maybe there is worse than us
We can only hope

Not just the ultimate responsibility, the only responsibility. Unless you're expecting Bain to fund transfers out of his own pocket then our lack of spending has nothing to do with Bain and everything to do with Short.

I don't think Bain is perfect or anything but your viewpoint confuses me.
I know the buck stops at short
But Bain is there to deal with things

You have just condemned about 5,000,000 fans mate there is more to life than the premiership.

I agree Rooch there is more to life than the Premier League, However....Given our history, our Stadium our fan base and training facilities I would have thought if not Premier league than a decent shot at promotion from the Championship is a minimum. Can't ever remember being more disillusioned with Sunderland and football in general...its like they have kicked out the enjoyment of being a football fan. Thanks Ellis

Agree entirely with that mate its broke me from being a fanatic to couldn't give a toss but I don't entirely blame Ellis just the Premier in general it has ruined the game in the last 10 years. people say they love the prem but my best league seasons have been the second half of Adamsons reign all the promotion pushes and two half seasons under Reid not much of a return for nearly 60 years of supporting the buggers.

But why have these promotion pushes if your not bothered about the premier league.
The premier league is the best place to play your football
And I want us part of it.
If we are not good enoug yes strive to get there
But once there we must stay there

I’m on about us
Not other clubs that may and cannot play in the premiership.
The premiership is the only place for sunderland.

Totally agree Vince.

Everything else is meaningless.

The game has changed and we're not keeping up with it. Instead we're going backwards.

In 20/30 years time there may not even be 4 professional leagues the way money is being distributed within the game.

We need to be back with the elite. It's vital to the long term future of the club. Unfortunately I don't see that happening for another 5 to 10 years now.

Trouble is, that's what we do too often - hope. But why change a broken record.
We know we'll survive even if it's only due to our fantastic fanbase and with Coleman's input
We should think how lucky it was he came here and get behind him and Baines who seems to me tobe doing an OK job in horrendously difficult circumstances.
Short thrift indeed.
Also not happy about going for administration and certain relegation - no no no no way. With positivity and hope Sunderland will be challenging for the Premiership next season.

As things stand....No Chance, However, If someone in China, Middle East or some ridiculously rich person elsewhere decides we have enough potential to take a punt on...Then yes in a few short years we will be back, failing that, we become another Portsmouth.

That's it it's a different game outside the Premiership from refereeing to playing with more physicality allowed and used. We are not a championship club but we need to prove that
Push on next season is our aim and I'm sure a winning run of will come shortly. Unfortunately I don't think we'll get the minimum 4points from Hull and Brum though.
After this we'll progress :emoticon-0148-yes:
EDIT That's what Sunderland do
