Guess bloody what. We had 2 two on one breaks and we blew both of them and the second lead to their late goal. Shocking and poor decisions yet again lead to our downfall and it's starting to become very tiresome to watch and when the commentators say they are lost for words - and that just sums it, and us, up in a nutshell. Despite all the hype we are still where we were when Nigel came on board and he must be pulling his hair out at another shocking loss of points. There is a mentality at Ashton Gate that pervades all aspects of who we are and today was yet another chapter in our inability to compete as we should expect or even demand. Under normal circumstances an away point is always welcome but this was a classic example of how to lose points with very little effort in the final throes of a game in which you controlled most of the play. If it were just a blip on the radar I could accept it but we do it on a weekly basis and have never come close to finding a way to hold on to what we have and until we do we will stay where we are for eternity.
Despite my moans I thought we looked very good at times especially when we bossed the game but our constantly giving up late goals and losing valuable points has started to wear a little thin. When we decide to sit back a little and watch the plays pass us by then we fall off our perch in spectacular fashion and end up looking like dead ducks in the water. We have one day left in which we can bring in players that could fit the mandate on the home improvement front but I would have thought by now we should have seem more action. Looks basically as if we will be going with the current motley crew to salvage our season and if that remains the same at 11:00 p.m. tomorrow then I think the remainder of our season will be uninspiring and boring to the point of detachment.
