I’m just curious as to how he saved us from administration, didn’t short pay off all the debts and he payed for the club with the clubs parachute payments. Are you saying he saved the club by letting some office staff go and sending back the plastic flowers.

I would still like to know what salary he paid himself etc

I said he was a shìt owner. Cutting some staff and academy etc point in case.
Flowers etc probably were justified.
He wasn't the type of owner we wanted but apparently nobody was queuing up to buy us so he maybe was the best option we had at the time.

Read my post back and i wrote "if he saved us" ;)

It's water under the bridge now.
I'm just happy how things have turned out, and "maybe" Donald was instrumental in that.

If he brought KLD on board then credit to him (don't think he did) but it seems to me if he was stuck with the club he was buggered financially. Cutting costs is relatively easy but if you haven't got the funds to turn it around you're putting the club on very thin ****ing ice.

Agreed, although i thought sartori was brought in as part of that backup.
Who knows, the main thing is we look fine now and can move on.

He also asset stripped any quality from the academy which was good of him.

Sorry mate missed the if at first time of reading

there's some proper bedwetting going on over the road about KLD and SD being at the match together yesterday. Its the end of a long period of negotiation, and the conclusion of a multi million pound business deal, with a hell of a lot of people involved in making it happen. Now in a normal world, without the restrictions the virus has forced upon us, I would expect that this deal would have concluded ( after all the boring stuff) with a social occasion to make a few introductions, say a few goodbyes, do a bit of networking, and clear up any loose ends on the people front, before all parties go their seperate ways. Now obviously this couldn't happen, and there's a limited number of venues where people involved could have got together in a semi-business/semi-social environment to perform these functions, I think maybe there's been some sort of meeting up down at Burton of people who weren't around the SOL last week, and KLD and SD have brought along some family members etc ( its not that far away from his local patch ) maybe just to part on good terms and have a toast to the future.

So what if they are? Everyone was rimming Donald when he took over from Ellis Short. I actually don’t mind the bloke. He had the clubs best interest at heart, he just wasn’t cut out for for the job. We have some of the most fickle fans. It’s the sort of thing we laugh at the mags for. Pathetic.

So you are okay with his daughters kidnapping?

That’s the sort of bullshit post you get over the road

I got pelters off the pitchfork brigade over the road for saying cutting coss was easy!

Donald was probably just handing over the keys to the Chairmans office. Saves him having to come up north again.
