We've rejected a bid for Ritchie and by all accounts would only sell if replacing with someone like Townsend. This should be in addition to Kennedy. So no, we'd still be better.
And the improvement in squad strength compared to the start of last season isn't debatable due to sale of Merino, it's obvious.
Merino > Ki (not much in it in terms of current ability).

Sounds like we might be pretty close to bringing Kenedy back on a loan. Will make a big difference if we manage to get that sorted. His form last year was going to be very difficult to replace and he seemed to really fit in with the team and the fans.
Hopefully if it is a loan deal he'll only have 12 months on his contract at the end of the season and we could pick him up for a more reasonable fee next summer.
