This should have been sorted. If it had we would have been more likely to get players in. I know it's committing themselves and one game doesn't seem enough but if they want players then they need to make this decision. Enough time has been wasted chasing others.

Strengthened his claim again. I have a feeling though that the new owners (we assume it's going through) will appoint someone else as we've heard nothing about him being approached to take the job.

Phelan is stilll attacking towards the end of games even when we are winning. That suggests he is still not a carbon copy of Steve Bruce.

I really really hope not.
If they replace him, we will forever ask.... What IF?!

Or that he has bowed to the managerial masterminds on here?

People were just sick of hanging on desperately at the end of games, taking off any outlets even.

We've had counter attacking ability for a while, and I think that can be honed even more with more coaching and additions.

We still have some of that defensive strength Bruce brought. Though you don't really want Huddlestone near the edge of your own area at critical times, he gave it away twice in a minute at the end.

The hand of god comment reminds me, refs have given us nothing yet really. Could have had a pen today, but still winning.

I didn't think we would spunk the lead today whereas with Bruce you would be fearing the worst or hoping for the best. I've gained my first grey hairs thanks to Bruce

Phelan really has shown his ability

The players rate him
he prepares the team well
plays for the win

I would guess he knows the players who would enhance the squad to his vision. Let's give him a cracking.

How about Bruce as director of football (for drawing players into the club) - yes I know it would never happen!!!!

Did you mean playing for a draw?

It's been good to hear how trainings been a lot more tactical but also how he wants us to play more and for the players to express themselves, rather than Bruce's no style of play and it's little hull against the pl Giants and if we can nick a goal we'll take our attackers off and try to hold on
