That was just the British License holder, the brand itself is fine. They used the Rangers case as an excuse (allegedly) for being unable to fulfil its obligations however throwing the cash around that they did was never going to end well. I've no detail on the football deals other than Everton were the only club who had the foresight to deal direct with the brand (via fanatics) but I do know for sure that errea were paying Wigan Warriors an unreal amount of money to be their Kit Supplier and Hummel doubled it!! It was a loss leader for errea who happened to get several Super League titles and lots of great publicity from Wigan but there was no way on gods earth Hummel could have done anything other than lose about £300k a year on Wigan Warriors. If you consider they did Hull FC a stupid deal as well and then take into account the money they sloshed about in football you start to understand why they were so easy to fold.Thought they were in trouble. Bristol City cut short their contract and released their new shirt with a different company before our game as they couldn't get the supply from Hummel anymore
Brands like Macron can throw some cash about because their product is easily obtained by amatuer and grassroots sides UK wide so all of their pro deals are propped up by grassroots sport wearing Macron gear. It was actually very difficult to get your hands on Hummel product so they had a massive shortfall of income.
I've a feeling they will hold onto some of their best partnerships such as Everton on direct deals and slowly slide back into the shadows of the 4 or 5 world famous brands.
