    Good afternoon,

I haven't got a clue how this works or whether anyone one will see my response but here goes...

I'm Martin, I'm the one who wrote that article in May last year and i've just stumbled across the thread by complete accident, I'm not sure where to start with this so i'll just keep typing, Personally i've never heard of this 'Old man' who cannot get to ER anymore, tell me who he is and where he is, I'll drive him myself seeing as I drive to ER for most games, that's right , I drive myself, I DO NOT get driven!
I'm not a Bates apologist, I'm not a Bates fan, he phoned me and asked me how i was and promised me a day at ER to meet everyone... This has never happened.
It was my idea to write the follow on article just to tell people how it was all going. There was never any Bates spin or involvment in any part of this.
The LAD thing is very cringeworthy, it was a work colleague that wrote this whilst drunk with his brother, this is absolutely nothing to do with me and it distracts away from the original article i wrote.
The original article was written with the intention of showing people how dedicated and loyal we are as Leeds fans and also to raise awareness of the condition that is Muscular Dystrophy, not for myself, i'm beyond fixing, I now face major paralysis.
I wanted to raise awareness for young lads with a worse strain than mine called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy who at the age of 10yrs old it is considered middle aged.

To write the original article took 10mins, the decision to publish it took days, I was telling the world about this massive weakness I have and the horrible disability that I try to hide from my loved ones because I need them to know it's all ok, I'm dealing with it fine , when i actually some days i'ts killing me.

Hope people see this and clears up some of the points made.

    Martin Hywood.
