Will be able to be seen tonight, but think I read because they will be close together they will look like one big light? Probably just some **** with a powerful torch shining it up in to sky to fool the ignorant masses. @Benoit Blanc to confirm.

Back on track can this Jupiter/Saturn thing be seen by the naked eye?
Yeah mate, seemingly if you look south west about 45 minutes after sunset you will see what looks like a big bright star. No doubt it will be an anti climax, the same as most of these things.
I shall also have a look. Maybe all GCers could take pictures and post them on here and then we could do a kind of montage and send it to NASA. We might even get on TVBTW today's sunset 16.09 according to my phone so I'll have a look
