    Will be able to be seen tonight, but think I read because they will be close together they will look like one big light? Probably just some **** with a powerful torch shining it up in to sky to fool the ignorant masses. @Benoit Blanc to confirm.

    I know it is related, but winter solstice happens every year, I'm guessing Jupiter and Saturn being so close doesn't happen every year?

    Yeah mate, seemingly if you look south west about 45 minutes after sunset you will see what looks like a big bright star. No doubt it will be an anti climax, the same as most of these things.

    I shall also have a look. Maybe all GCers could take pictures and post them on here and then we could do a kind of montage and send it to NASA. We might even get on TV <ok>
