Mike Lodge. Well known local entertainer, a very, very funny man with a huge personality and a good voice too. Seen him perform many times, often opening sporting dinners when he wouldn't come on stage until he'd had a few sherberts to 'calm his nerves' Met him personally a couple of time too, very friendly bloke who was quite knowledgable about City and showed a genuine interest in the club. If Mike had been born in Liverpool and not Hull he would have been a household name, like 'Toilet duck' (one of his) Sad loss.

Very sad, a lovely, funny man, RIP Mike Lodge. A staple of the club scene in the 1980s (and I don’t mean night clubs!). He was the regular compère at BP S & S Club, where my step father was Club Steward, so we spent an awful lot of Saturday nights in there, chicken in basket meals not to be missed! On my engagement to Mr HT, we had our engagement party in there, Mike got us up on stage, and came out with one of his classic lines; engaged to be married, asked when the wedding was, “like getting a bike at Easter, but not allowed to ride it til Christmas!” I’d heard his repertoire & gags so often, but his delivery, timing, so funny.

Happy days, wonderful memories. RIP Mike. <peacedove><rose>
